For millions of people around the world getting a meal through a fast food restaurant is a way of life, it's something that Americans are known to do at least 1-3 times per week.

For some of those restaurants like McDonald's and others you can find online hacks that have circulated where people share what secret menu items they order, inspiring others to do the same and try it out. These secret menu hacks are now being embraced by the companies and some of those suggestions are being added to the menu.

Hack your fast food order

At McDonald's for example they will be adding some of those popular menu hacks to the list so that people can get favorites like the Surf + Turf, and others.

The Surf + Turf is a mix between a Filet o Fish burger and a double cheeseburger. Who would've guessed that might make a good combo? Some did.

It isn't just McDonald's that has some secret menu items to find online that are shared by many, other popular joints like Chick-fil-A also have fans of secret menu offerings too. Then of course there are also countless videos of people making different variations on drinks at Starbucks too.

It's not a bad idea for those businesses to see what their customers are saying and to consider highlighting some value that others have reaped in creative ways by putting products together in new ways.

In 2020 we saw that McDonald's had some of the worst global sales that they had seen in about 15 years and some wondered if inflation was going to make things too expensive and result in fewer customers in the U.S. and elsewhere. Are the secret menu hacks going to be the fuel that gets more people interested in coming back? It will no doubt be an easy draw for many.

Right now the growth strategy for McDonald's is said to be focused on digital, delivery, and drive-thru, as these have helped to keep sales strong through the pandemic. That 'digital boom' as they have referred to it as has also shown little signs of slowing down anytime soon.
