Another shortage is causing some businesses to struggle right now and that is a potato shortage that has impacted chip supplies for restaurants.

Now they are turning to make their own supplies as they struggle with trying to find the goods they need and deal with the prices.

Trying to make those chips from scratch can be a lengthy process and that is going to take people in the business away from doing other tasks, like making drinks or serving customers.

It is not the most cost effective method of getting chips if you need them but for some businesses right now there is no other option.

For others who are making fresh chips this way it is a method that they might prefer and who knows if some might stick with the fresh made on site supply even after the potato market returns more to normal.

This goes to show how resilient and versatile businesses need to be as you never know these days when you might face an egg shortage, toilet paper shortage, potato shortage, or a drastic increase in production costs because of inflation and other events etc.

Some stores have put a limit on purchases while other businesses might just be taking chips off the menu for now until things get better.

We heard early last year that there was possibly a growing worldwide shortage although the problem then and now doesn't seem to have impacted all regions.

As well, there are expectations that the upcoming 2023 harvest is going to help start to smooth things out for those who are currently struggling to find a supply and see those frozen goods sections stocked up again.
