Videos circulated recently showing some residents in Philadelphia buying up bottled water at grocery stores because they've recently been told to avoid tap water in the region.

After a chemical spill authorities took to warning residents that they should opt for bottled water instead. However, it looks like now they are telling residents that it is once again safe to drink the water, at least for some time until they uncover more info about the event and seriousness of any contamination.

After the news went out about the spill it did not take long before people rushed to purchase bottled water from stores. How many are going to feel comfortable going back to the tap water so soon? Some might stick with bottled water for a bit and it might be difficult to find in stores after the rush in demand.

Stores quickly saw empty shelves around the city after people rushed to purchase what they could in water products.

Some of the news coverage on the situation showed huge lines of people outside stores trying to find water. More updates are expected to be coming on the situation.

Officials say that they have been monitoring the situation closely they also allege that they've seen no contamination after that chemical spill into the Delaware River.

The river in question is one that is known to supply water to around 15 million people living around 4 states.

There are a number of communities around the U.S. that have struggled with water issues for years now, some reports have found forever chemicals contaminating the water in dozens of cities and Philly has allegedly seen some of the highest PFA levels.
