On May 15th a number of COVID-19 restrictions in Virginia are going to be eased and that means restaurants will once again be free to open and serve larger crowds and sell alcohol past midnight etc.

They expect that sales are going to surge and since last year when many restaurants closed they are desperately in need of that boost in business. However, one thing stands in the way and that is being able to find people to fill the needed positions. Some restaurants might not be opening to that full capacity because they are still struggling to find people right now.

There are still going to be some COVID-19 restrictions in place, for distancing etc, but the good news for restaurants is that they will be able to serve more now both indoors and outdoors.

This is an issue facing businesses in many areas around the U.S. right now and it not just found in Virginia alone. It isn't just restaurants either who are trying to find people to fill open positions, companies in various industries are facing that struggle currently.

There are some restaurants who have been forced to close entirely for a couple of days during the week because they cannot fill positions. For those food chains that can afford it and who are in need of the help to meet demand they're already looking at technology to fill the gap, whether flipping burgers or shaking fries.

Right now there are millions of people who are unemployed so for those who are looking for a job they might not have to look far today in order to find an open position.

If some of these industries don't find people soon then it could make it a difficult summer as far as getting gas, food, and other goods to where they need to be.
