Right now if you try looking for some Clorox wipes on Amazon and in other places you might have trouble finding some. Clorox wipes are still being prioritized for use by organizations that are on the front lines and dealing with COVID-19 and are pretty much sold out everywhere these days.

To try and deal with the surge in demand for the products, Clorox has ramped up their production and continue shipping out every day but they haven't been able to bring enough to refill the shelves again just yet.

Workers making it all happen have stated that they see themselves as contributing to a mission rather than just a simple 9-5 job like they might have prior to the COVID-19 situation. They are more aware of the great value that they are bringing to people around the world with the work that they are doing to create those products for those who need them.

For Clorox wipes and other competitor brands, supply chain experts are now suggesting that it might be until July or August when things get back to normal and there is an abundance of these products again.

“We think that there’s going to be substantial improvement this summer,” - Clorox chairman and CEO B. Dorer

Sales have jumped more than 500 percent and that has taken more than a few weeks to adjust to and deal with. As those in the business have admitted, they have been facing uncharted territory for their supply chain and those items that they had never seen before. What a learning experience it has been.

"To try and meet demand to the greatest extent possible, we've been running our cleaning and disinfecting product plants 24/7,.. To increase output, we've accessed third-party supply sources focused on manufacturing of disinfecting products and those that can be supplied most quickly, and we've been partnering with suppliers and retailers to get product where it is needed the most." - Dorer

They have 5 plants that make these wipes and they are all working on that 24/7 schedule now. They have also been able to hire almost 300 new people, at least 263 new employees already and they boosted pay for those workers, as well as giving $1,000 bonuses to lower-level workers.

This business continues to problem solve, by looking at investing in further capacity, and continually looking for new ways to speed up production lines and look for ways to do better. Already, they've managed to produce 40% more products last quarter than they managed to put out in the previous year’s quarter. As fast as they are getting them shipped out and back onto shelves though, people are buying them up still just as quickly. That might not change for a few months yet.
