In Croatia there's a town called Pula. During Ceausescu regime, the town was a frequent host to regional summits of the Eastern European block countries (Croatia was part of the former Yugoslavia). I still remember how we laughed when news anchors, during the daily two hours broadcast consisting of communist news, were referring to the town as being "Pale". :))
