February 4th 2021 - Three Kinds of Crypto People

There are various ways in which crytosphere people could be categorised, but the easiest and the simplest is the one that takes into consideration the motives that made them appreciate or interested into cryptocurrrencies. In broadest sense, cryptopshere people could be divided into three groups.

The first one belongs to people who, upon discovery of cryptocurrencies, adopted them for their practical value, namely the ways in which cryptocurrencies happen to be superior to fiat in terms of convenience, speed or price of transaction, simplicity or anonymity. There aren't any official statistics or any serious polls or surveys, but it could argued that this group is the most numerous, especially if we take into account various Third World or undeveloped countries where, unlike First World, the newly arrived technology didn't actually had to compete with the established financial institutions and infrastructure.

The second group are those who are attracted to cryptocurrencies namely for the spectacular ways in which they can bring material wealth to their owners or investors, in many ways dwarfing everything else. This group, of course, is arguably the least numerous, and for two reasons. It takes some money, usually in amounts outside the grasp of most people, to make serious investments. And people who invest in crypto expecting a Lambo in few months are going to soon be disappointed or even crushed when crypto markets inevitably take the bearish turn.

The third group of crypto people belongs to those who are motivated less by greed or practical consideration and more due their actual belief in cryptocurrency as the future of world's finances, economy and an important building block for new and better kind of politics and culture. This group is hardest to identify and most certainly the least numerous, but it is the most important in the grand scheme of things. Only the idealistic zeal and sincere belief can compensate for the sacrifices, frustrations, hard work without which creating cryptocurrencies and its infrastructure is impossible.
