March 8th 2021 - Uncomfortable Achievements

Today is the International Women's Day and it is, perhaps, fitting to be reminded that the post with the largest payout in history of STEEM/HIVE blockchain was (please, correct me if I happen to be wrong) written by a woman. It was Let's Get Uncomfortable, written by Heidi Chakos and posted on her Heidi Travels Steemit blog on July 17th 2016. That post was worth 12793.50 US$. Even with Steemit having different distribution of Steems at that point, that was quite an achievement, very unlikely to be surpassed in near future.

From today's perspective, that post is going to cause a lot of head scratching among today's Hivers and unavoidable questions like "Why would anyone spend so much money on a single post" or "Was the post really worth 12,000 US$". And it would probably cause a lot of ambiguous feelings among Steemit veterans, reminding them of a time when great things looked in anyone reach only to slip away, at least on that blockchain.

But, in any case, regardless of whether the now unfathomable success of the post was connected with its actual quality and importance or not, Heidi Chakos entered history and many would have to invest uncomfortable levels of effort in order to repeat her achievement.
