There were two major arguments for existence of EU, especially when it comes to nations giving away (sometimes hard won) sovereignty to the bunch of unelected bureaucrats in Brussels. One is increased prosperity for each of the individual members. And the other is maintaining decades of peace on the continent. Both arguments are pretty weak and unconvincing right now.
