Battle Against AI-Generated Original Content: Hive Vs ChatGPT

It seems AI-generated content is becoming a major issue on Hive. Many people have been open about their hatred for the tool and how it has the potential to destroy what Hive stands for: unbiased, original content. The whole conversation also seems one-sided because it is almost as if, if you are not attacking it from one angle, then you can be easily demonized. I have seen several posts on the topic, and they all seem to say the same thing: "if you are not with us, you are against us."

But how can we fight without knowing the enemy? I would urge all those who have written against the use of ChatGPT to try to come up with the same content they just did with ChatGPT. If you did, you would immediately see that it is not as easy as you thought.

The number one reason why it is so hard is that ChatGPT reads like a bot wrote it...because a bot did!! If you have any character in your content, ChatGPT has to be reprogrammed to write it, unless you are a popular content creator like a well-known book writer. If that is not the case, you can feed it your content in hopes that it will replicate what you want, but I don't think it is programmed that way.

The main person who has to appreciate your work is you, and if you don't, then you can't post it as a representation of you without pushing it in the right direction. ChatGPT as a tool has replaced Grammarly for me because I am not good with grammar and spelling. At the same time, Grammarly does not agree with some of its edits, and neither do I.

I use it to learn about financial topics that are too difficult for me to comprehend. I'll ask ChatGPT to break it down for me like I am a 5-year-old child...is that bad?

I'll ask ChatGPT to come up with the structure of a post while I build the rest of it, is that bad?

People have also come up with a webpage that can detect AI content, and they are working on newer versions as ChatGPT gets smarter. We should get to work on either incorporating that into our system or building one that is similar for ourselves.

ChatGPT is a tool. It is here to stay, and if we do not accept it and build a world for it, we risk suffering from those consequences, whatever they may be.

The conversation about hiring people to crack down on this issue is being brought up at the same time as defunding HW. Who will be employed to monitor posts? People who have never used the tool before? It's like telling police to fight crime without guns. Moreover, defunding security never works for anyone's favor other than the thieves.

We are dealing with the same issue the SEC has to deal with on a daily basis with crypto and protecting the public...let's be better than them and not throw everyone under the bus because of fear.

How do you think we can balance the benefits of AI-generated content with the need to maintain authenticity and originality in content creation? What are your thoughts on the idea of defunding HW and the importance of security and protection on the platform? Let me know in the comment section below.
