HIVE pumps are a good time to think about hive-engine projects

As I have continued to learn, develop and grow in this ecosystem, I have noticed a few things, a few tendencies you might call them. As someone who works hard to 'buy low and sell high', getting into the groove of these tendencies can help me get a handle on what is coming. Of course no one has a crystal ball, but every advantage is valuable!

Today I would like to mention one thing that may be obvious to some, and may be new to others, mainly:

When HIVE pumps, H-E tokens dump

This makes some sense, people want to take profits on their HIVE, but its wrapped up in tokens, so they have to sell their tokens to swap.hive, and swap out to hive to sell it on the market. This is where buy orders come in very handy. If you have swap.HIVE on hand, you can get some great projects very cheap when HIVE is pumping.

The key here is selecting the projects to buy into. Any no-backed shitcoin can go down forever, the valuations are purely speculative. But that is not the case for all tokens, as we will see.

BRO

@raymondspeaks is the lead bro for BRO token (@brofund), and he has plowed the fund's funds into many promising projects on and off chain, including Axie, Splinterlands and others. Brofund is one of the largest miner in many tribes, sporting a solid backing of STEMM, LEOM, ARCHONM and WORKERBEE. Here are some of their balances just on hive-engine:

Holding 10 BRO tokens is enough to get a vote on your posts as well, with 1000 BRO yielding a full 100% vote, and the status of DRAGON in the ManCave discord server. There are only ~69,000 BRO tokens in total, and this limited, asset backed fund is a project I love to pick up on the cheap.

SIM

@gerber and team keep pumping away at their projects, dCity is a fun game to play for numbers people, and we are getting new users coming over both from dappradar (hopefully a new update soon!) and splinterlands.

What people may not appreciate, is that holding SIM pays out in HIVE, so the game is really pegged to HIVE and not USD. And when the price of SIM dumps, the APRs go up up up for new investors looking to buy in.

Over 100% apr being paid out in HIVE, and even more if you can shove it into the liquidity pools. I did just that last night, using beeswap.dcity.io's new SWAP tab feature UI.

The first month of rewards is about to end, so I sacrificed my bonus for the next two days to shove in even more liquidity. Gerber is definitely not done yet, and based on everything I have heard, the apr's are going to get insane, with the intention that the price goes up. Even if it doesn't I will enjoy the great HIVE rewards and also enjoy my HUGE governance vote within dCity.

DHEDGE

@discohedge is still alive, and has assets backing up its portfolio. You can mint new DHEDGE any time, but you can pick it up even cheaper from dumpers.

Each DHEDGE has assets backing it worth between 0.199 and 0.212 hive (buy/sell spread), so picking this token up for 0.15 or lower just seems like a great decision. This is a holder's token, so can be hard to get out of at times, but the discount is the premium paid to market liquidity providers! DHEDGE pays daily divs in HIVE and hive-engine tokens.

Stable Coins?

These tokens that I mentioned aren't exactly stable, even though they are asset backed, their volatility gives us a chance to get in cheap. But when HIVE is pumping and all the h-e tokens are falling like a rock, where can you go for stability? I wanted to mention a few tokens that are great for this.

MPATH

Run by @rychare on the @mpath account, this is a hive-backed vote bond with solid liquidity. If you can get there first, you can sell some of your MPATH holdings, and if its already been sold down, then make sure to list a buy lower, you can sell them back next week for the ABV. Make sure to check out @mpath blog for more information.

M

Another @rycharde project, this time on @accelerator account. This token acts as a deposit account, slowly raising in price over time. @rycharde maintains good liqudity, so in times of trouble you can sell them off and buy other tokens on the cheap.

I hoped this helps any readers think about their strategies, let me know down in the comments what are some of your strats for dealing with a hive pump on hive-engine.

Freedom and Friendship!
