What is going on with SIM?
Its no secret that I have been 'buying the dip on dCity', and the SIM market has acquiesced and dropped ever further still. Perhaps we have hit a floor for SIM or perhaps not, but now that a crypto-wide consolidation is well underway, let's take a look again at the possibilities and horizons for SIM.
dCity manages a number of 'funds' apart from the reward pool. Some of that liquidity was sold into USD during recent price rises, meaning that the assets are worth even more now in HIVE terms.
These funds and profits are used to pay out the holding rewards to SIM holders. This is just the first layer of rewards for the SIM economy.
The Global SIM power amount is slowly starting to rise again, after a period of contraction during my presidency, we did see the promised consolidation and capitulation of SIM prices. Again, we cannot be sure we have hit a floor, but this APR does seem to be serving as a bit of a soft floor, as the price contracts, the yield becomes more convincing.
Many new game mechanisms have been put into place and tested along the way as well. The most recent release was the STATS page.
With this page, and with the new dCity API, we will be able to get dCity listed on many popular sites where users list apps and dapps of this kind. Since no one has come forward with 'insider knowledge' of getting listed on sites like these, I will begin research soon and see if I can 'do it myself'.
Our daily active users in dCity are only around 200, but as a passive game I think that is quite good. This period of consolidation has been good for the game, and as we move on, there will be even more moving parts built to support the game and its economy.
