Things keeping me busy

Hello everyone, today I would like to explore the wide variety of interests which have been keeping me busy. Since the new year, it has become obvious that the things which have died down are bound to be replaced by captivating ones. Translation is definitely one of those things and I am proud to be fighting for systemic change through the lens of intersectional feminism amongst other things. I am learning, from recent work, about how the pandemic is affecting women who are such an overwhelming majority of our healthcare workers here in Canada. It is humbling to get a sense of my privilege, in the ways I have been able to isolate, not having to worry about caring for children or other family members.

Today I was modelling at Cap U, something which has been the object of many adventures before. I felt very strong and up to the challenge.

I have been giving Voice, a new blogging platform, a try. Even though I find that the KYC identification process is against so much of what I stand for. I am opposed to this humongous invasion of privacy but to be able to see myself as a blockchain social media pioneer is kind of cool. In other words, I am too curious to pass. Plus, the system itself is well gamified, something that Dan Larimer excels at, as we know. He helped launch this chain before it was Hive and is also the brains behind Voice.

A lot of money was invested into that interface which is well suited for mobile and it shows, it runs smoothly and feels fresh.

Danny, as I like to call him, quit his job at the head of Block.one two weeks ago, to work on buildin censorship resistant platforms which can better promote free speech than what currently exists.

What I enjoy most about Voice is that people seem eager to engage, kind and articulate. A new mindfulness community popped up recently that can give food for thought. Some good content is written on there and the fact that this social media is emerging can only help build a good following.

Even though you cannot exchange your Voice currency for other crypto and therefore are not making any money, it is all very addictive to bid for posts which is both good and bad.

I don't see Hive and Voice being in competition at present, quite the contrary, we need to enlarge the web 3.0 use case as much as possible.

I took the pictures in this post during mindful walks, feeling happy and fulfilled. Wanting to share my light with the world. This is one of the reasons why I love blogging, because it really makes a difference.

I turned the ads off on the Brave browser and I'm taking a break from collecting that BAT (Basic Attention Token). I need the peace and quiet right now. Thank goodness for that browser honestly.

One of my greatest accomplishments of late was sharing a PeakD link to a recent post about Sacred Harp with the whole community on Facebook and knowing that they were exposed to this wonderful blockchain. That feels like a major score, even Linda Morisson, the choirmaster of the Celtic choir in Montréal, read it and she loved it! All in all, I got some beautiful encouragements for which I am grateful as they make me feel nourished. It more than makes up for the content that falls through the cracks!

I facilitated a dynamic meditation inspired by Osho in my Queer Men's Yoga group. Only 3 people showed up but we had such a good time, I had never tried it but was thrilled at the idea of doing it.

Just because something comes out of a cult, it doesn't make it bad. I love Osho's writings around this meditation, they are sensible guidelines for techniques I can trust to bring on increased awareness.

The contrast between the dynamic phase and the silent meditation make it easier to focus on letting go and to empty one's mind and the hooo! hooo! hooo! mantra is fun. It invites countless modifications, for example, I had everyone do the Kabalabati, a short structured breathing pattern as opposed to the eccentric chaotic breathing that was called for.

For a mindful conclusion, I will say that I am exercising more but that I would not want to do one more thing right now and I am happy that time is finite and that I am limited and that I have to go to bed… Like, bye Felicia! AKA Trump.
