When the price of Hive started to boom I was grateful for my newly found consistency on the platform. However, I was probably just as unsatisfied with the knowledge that I probably could have been in a 'much better position' if I had been more consistent from inception.

It isn't just hive though. It is something I have noticed as a trait (in myself and am sure many others) exhibited by a significant amount of people. We tend to rue or regard losses (be they perceived or actual) just as much as we revere or reference gains (perceived or actual).

Ordinarily this shouldn't be a problem, as there is need for some sort of balancing act in everything that we do. Where the problem lies is in perceived losses and gains. We always tend to stay on the positive, optimistic side of our imaginations when considering actual and perceived benefits so there is always the tendency to over exaggerate and completely miss the point.

Ruing a loss that didn't actually occur would not bring succor to those involved, rather it could potentially promote unwarranted thinking on the promises of false riches. It could also motivate however, and some people do manage to figure out how best to move on from such a scenario into one that benefits them in the future.

No Loss On Hive

I think one of the reasons why I was particularly upset over my lack of growth on Hive was because I could visibly see what some other accounts had managed to do in the same period. However, a lack of foresight that prevented the imagination from stretching years into what Hive could potentially become, could also prevent an appreciation for the opportunities that are still very much present.

As long as we envision Hive to be long term, there will always be opportunities for growth and everyone to benefit. Therefore the point when we come to that realization is the ideal point for us, and not too late. Therefore rather than consider what has been missed, we could very well focus on what there is to gain.

With the Hive chain there is plenty to gain, perhaps more than ever before on offer. While the Hive rewards are a bit more difficult to earn from blogging, other platforms are offering unique ways to invest and thrive in the Hive ecosystem without the need for the actual blog.

Anyone coming in with a perfect understanding of the value offerings present in the Hive chain as well as a little capital may likely be spoilt for choice. If a newbie can view the platform in that sense, then there certainly is no reason not to envision the future on the chain
