A lot of the pessimists about crypto are those who were either burned quickly and withdrew, or those who have never invested a dime in the technology.

Spectators are very important in the improvement cycle of any product or technology. While they do not play an active role in the system, they help highlight some of the defects it carries, prompting action.

Indeed it takes a spectator to keenly observe a particular scenario and point out issues of concern. Using a basketball match analogy, those who are not actively involved during game time are in the best position to highlight which players are not pulling their weight and how to possibly correct this.

How Seriously Should we Take Spectators Though?

Spectators might be better poised to see things, but if they made better players then every fight analyst for instance should have more than enough experience to be champion. Sadly, being actively involved and analyzing from a distance are two completely different things. It takes being active to really appreciate the challenges confronted by players.

A good example of this is in sports betting where spectators are allowed to make predictions based on their observations. The increased success in the profits of these companies is one great example on how the field can play out quite differently from what we want.

It is a one reason I grew tired of motivational books during my late teens. When I started researching more into the background of some speakers, I realized that few (if any) actually lived by their suggestions. It didn't mean their words had no right to be uttered by them, just that they also largely spoke from a spectator view.

There is a need for some kind of symbiosis in other to fully maximize both ends of the spectrum. It is largely up to players to filter through the observations and criticisms of spectators and make improvements.

The cyrpto space has tons and tons of spectators just waiting for an opportunity to gloat. While some concerns may be valid, many are simply regurgitated lies requiring only the test of time to resolve. As we listen to spectators more, we become better primed to benefit from speculations that arise about the future.
