Times when we may have made personal commitments to be more prudent financially are often when demands that require our material resources arise out of the blue to test us. Some of these may be ignored, or at the very least fended off by sheer determination. However, there is a limit to how much we should deny ourselves in the face of things that are necessary.

I was inspired to write about this by a user's article on the challenges bediviling his health. I believe one of those necessities is on our well-being. I have learned that deciding to neglect a critical aspect of our lives will eventually prove more costly in the long-run. Fortunately for the most parts this has come from experiences othes have had, and not necessarily Personal experiences.

When it comes to health, I believe we should leave no stone or expense unturned if need be. Our health is more or less the fulcrum for the rest of our lives and we must give it the attention it deserves. Also I think it also pays to remember that as long as we remain alive and healthy there is a always a chance to turn our financial fortunes around.

Not all necessities are expenses though. As a matter of fact, I view investing as a necessity in today's World. There is obviously a consequence that comes from refusing to properly allocate where our resources go, and finding ways to sustain them, if not increase them significantly. Allocating a certain amount for investment is the first way to ensure at the very least a continuing financial future.

In Economics they say savings are equal to investments. Therefore, the amount of money we put aside in the face of temptations is also an investment, which is also a paradox on its own right. In essence setting money aside is also essential to our very functionality as humans, as no one ever hopes to be in a desperate financial situation with nothing to turn to.

I hope in all my blabbing I at least made some sense (sometimes it's mostly self advice anyways). Every genuine need must be met without hesitation, as hesistating with the present has consequences for the future.
