I once found myself in a similar category, I was always filled with doubt about venturing into a business of my own, I asked questions about the entrepreneurial journey and if it was possible for me to succeed as an entrepreneur, this questions went through my mind for some time before I came across some set of questions that has the ability to help anyone decide if the entrepreneurial journey is for them or not.

No matter how skilled you seem to be in handling other people’s businesses, you might not fully understand what it entails to start a business of your own.

The Question

The first question you should ask yourself is "are a self-starter"? Self starters are people that can start things when others are even not willing to do them. If you feel you have this attributes, then we can move to the next one.

Are you a risk taker, do you love taking risks (responsible risks), What is your opinion about risk taking?

Would you describe yourself as someone who has a leadership ability? Can you make people do things for you, so as to get a particular goal or target?

Do you think you and your family could live without a constant salary inflow? If you are going into business fully, you might not be touching your business funds for a long time, can you do this?

Most people employ families and friends in their businesses. Can you fire a family or friend, or can you fire someone who obviously depends on your business for survival even when you need them to go?

Can you work for up to 60 hours in a week or even more. Your business will need more of your time so can you spare such time?

Will you regard yourself as a self-confident person and do you think you have the capacity to live with uncertainty?

Are you a goal getter, are you not easily distracted and is it possible for you to stick with what you have in mind to accomplish?

Would you regard yourself as a creative person and can you face competitions? if you aren't someone who likes competition or you can't be creative, you might need to stay out of being an entrepreneur.

Do you like to do things or carry out task on your own or will you rather prefer to carry people along? As an entrepreneur, you should be a sole player and a team player, you can't do everything alone and you might have to do somethings alone.

Whenever you feel things are not going in your own way, do you think you have the capacity to change direction or will you rather stick to the thing you know?

Do you have any experience at all in the business of your interest. Do you think you currently have the capacity to perform multiple task?

Can you go out of your way to find customers? Do you think you have the ability to handle pressure properly or are you weak at it?

Conclusion

So friends, if you have answered these questions correctly and sincerely with yourself, and you are able to answer positive to all the questions or about 80% of the questions, then you could regard yourself as someone who has the ability to become an entrepreneur.

If you were able to get a positive reply on 70% of the questions, you could regard yourself as someone who has the tendency to become an entrepreneur over time.

If you rate yourself below 60%, then it will be wise to think of something else aside from being called an entrepreneur.

I will like to know how this quiz has helped you/ has not helped you to know your status as a future entrepreneur.
