If you have a look at the posts on the blockchain today you see the majority of them is about what's happened during the night and today. It is a big deal for us, Hivers, even though the chances for HIVE to stay at this level are slim. This is a process and HIVE is moving similar to other alts. Up and down, up and down, that's how the crypto market moves, based on what people's perception of an asset is at the moment.

Price is not always correlated with value though. We know HIVE worth much more than $0.7 (market price yesterday) or $1.15, the price today.

Investing

If I look back to how I started my journey and where I am now, looking at it with economist eyes, it looks like a real investment. Usually businesses start in a similar way. You invest your initial capital, work for a couple of years without taking profit, in order to get to a level when profits can be taken or profits can be reinvested in order to make more.

Hive

For me, Hive is no different from a real business, even though it started out as a way to have some fun while practicing English. Back then life on our blockchain was plain and simple, compared to what we have today. There was only the three tokens you see in your wallet. Today things are more complicated.

It's Christmas Every Day

After about three and a half years, for me it feels like Christmas every day. Although I'm not checking my wallet value every day, I do it when there's a day like this as it's good to see the $ value of my work.

Lately I've started to take profits, half of my earnings are redirected towards other investments, the majority of my earnings are still in my wallet and it's going to stay that way. A big part of my activity here is about giving back to the community in form of curation.

Wen I was at the beginning of my journey, in January 2018, I remember what a big deal it was to get some upvotes worth a few $$, as my vote was less than $0.01. Starting from scratch is not fun but it is more motivating as you need to work hard and adopt the best strategy to get somewhere, otherwise you're just wasting your time.

We are lucky as there have been a few good occasion that could have helped anyone boost their wallet. Forking was one of them as with the HIVE airdrop you could double your wallet.

Over the years there has been other forks, other platforms that were similar to this one, copies if you like and many have jumped onboard, hoping to get big there, but none of them have succeeded. There's a good reason those platforms have failed and we know very well what it is.

Choosing Wisely

Wasting time on centralized social media platforms is kind of like a pandemic, it's a must if you want to look cool. It's a trend blinding the masses but I hope the latest events have proved once again which way is the right way.

I was wondering what business you can give you this amount of profit in three and a half years. One I can think of is trading, but I can't really compare trading to what we do here on Hive. Hive is a safe bet as losing can only happen if you're ignorant and don't understand how things work here, while in trading you can lose even if you understand what you're doing. $50k without any fiat or crypto investment in such a short period of time is a real gift for me, money that can definitely change my life. Basically it already have.

However, there's no time to celebrate yet. We're still at the beginning, selling now would be a huge mistake that I would regret very soon. Accumulating, powering up and curating is still the right thing to do. Two years ago my account value was $5k. Today is 10x. Once things start to move, we can get to a whole different level and we're not far from there.

While the world is struggling economically, money printing is going on at a breakneck speed in every country, we have the opportunity to change our lives and provide the necessary funds to not only make ends meet but change our lives. What better Christmas present one can want?
