Ever since Hive came alive, we're encouraged to spread the word, share our content on different social media platform and encourage onboarding new users, which is great.

There's even a referral link option now, that you can access using PeakD. You just need to click on the ... 3 dots at the bottom of your post.

There's a list that pops up, on the top of which you have the Share option.

Among the social media sharing option, there's the referral link option. Click on it, your referral link will be copied on clipboard and you're good to go. I'm always using my referral link when I'm sharing my post on Twitter.

Voting Witnesses

Today I'd like to talk to you about how important is to vote for witnesses. As a new user, I know you have a lot to learn. I can still remember when I was at the beginning, the amount of information I had to learn was overwhelming, it took me a while to get to voting witnesses and proposals. I know many don't care about these things as they think it's not important. Well, they couldn't be more wrong.

The blockchain requires witnesses to create blocks and uses a consensus mechanism called delegated proof of stake, or DPOS. Thanks to witnesses the blockchain exists, so please take a moment and vote 30 witnesses as that's the maximum you can do.

Next to your username (using PeakD), there's an arrow, click on it to get the dropdown menu in which you find Witnesses.

It's up to you who you are voting, as we evaluate them differently. If you can't decide who to vote, please consult with someone you trust. You can select your 30 witnesses by hand, or the other option is to use a proxy. Either way is fine.

Proposals

On that dropdown menu, right beneath Witnesses you have Proposals. These are the ongoing proposals made mostly by developers. Click on the proposal name, read it and support those that you agree with as this is important for the blockchain. The more votes a proposal gets, the more funding the project will get.

Remember, development is key and without funding, development is basically impossible. So please take this seriously.

Last but not least I'd like to say thank you to witnesses and developers who are working hard so the blockchain can exist. I like that there's always something new, devs are constantly working on making this place better.
