Ladies of Hive Community Contest #21: How did you come to find and join the Hive blogging platform? And how did it benefit you?

I am so happy that I am able to participate in this #21 contest before the expiry date. unluck or lucky for me, I am always late to see the contest post and always end up seeing it almost a day to the end of the contest but thanks to @glotokens who invited me this time early enough.

Here is my entry to the #ladiesofhive contest #21 and i am delighted to be amogn those participating in this contest. I would have loved to answer the both questions but for now, I can't really dig deep to write about my favorite Romantic song so I would be picking the second question that says How did you come to find and join the Hive blogging platform? And how did it benefit you?

Guys, my story I guess is a funny one but in all my shout out goes to the person who helped me find and join Hive blogging platform.

MY STORY In the year 2018 March precisely, I was introduced to the Hive blockchain by @uyobong then known as Steem blockchan, he was the person who introduced me to the Hive and he just didn't stop there but also did the creation of my account and updated all he needed to update, he even went as far as managing that account for me so that it will help me start the blockchain but the truth was I wasn't ready to join any online blogging site because I never really believed n the online stuff, well it wasn't my fault that I did not belive in the online stuff because the rate at which people were been schemed and duped of their money online were becoming rampard and devastating.

Secondly, I was an introvert and during that point of my life was a period I was depressed and down. I was scared of how I will fit into such a platform while I was still strugglign to get along on facebook, how then am I supposed to do anything in this site, I thought to myself. I jus culdn;t imagine myself writing to earn a living and moreover, I wasn't a person who believed in myself most especially when it has to do with posting something for everyone to read and comment. I just wasn't that online freak.

So, it took me close to one year and some month to get myself acquainted to this platform, but I had to start with a baby step, I tried as much as possible to post at least two to three post in a week and wasn;t a consistent blogger. I never cared about anything that has to do with the site unless I was reminded or shouted at by my boss who introduced me to the platform to try and engage the platform.

I began engaging on Hive blockchain after steemit faced a hardfork during the month of March and was splitted into two, Hive and Steemit. I diverted into Hive and started blogging there.

It wasn't easy for me but I had to engage little by little just so that I am not shouted out because I refused to earn some money.

How did it Benefit Me?

FINANCIALLY: Over time, I began doing everything by myself but that only happened and was possible when I experienced a hard time. During the covid 19 pandemic, I suffered a lot of blow, firstly, I lost my job and secondly, I had my house rent to pay off just so that I will have a roof over my head but the only source of income was taken away from me by the pandemic so I did just one thing, I ran to my boss @uyobong who reminded me that I had an account and at that period, Steemit was facing a hardfork and was splited into two. I had no option than to begin blogging in my Hive account just so I can raise money for my house rent, my feeding, that of my mother and siblings welfare and for my mom's health. So after some time, I had to power down my account just to be able to earn enough for myself and my family upkeep. My Hive earnings and Hive second layer tribe tokens have been the only source where I get my finances from. They served as a source of income and livelihood for me over the years.

SOURCE OF JOB EMPLOYMENT: It is indeed and surprisingly almost one month since I lost my job and I have done no job other than blog on Hive and Hive tribes as a source of employment. I have become a full time blogger and I am proud of myself because I earn better than when I was earning as a monthly earner. I have earned a good amount of money not just montly but weekly as my pay for engaging and writing articles.

MY WRITING SKILLS: I made mention that I was afraid of what kinda content could be accepted in such a platform but thank god for the different communities we have in the platform and not only has it helped me in my writing skills, it has helped me to expand my knowledge broadly about some topics I never knew i could have interest on. Most especially the second layer tribes like the likes of Sportstalkscoial community and Leofinance, those two community has helped me or made me want to know more. I wasn't aperson who loved sports but as a result of thinking of what to write, I was able to do a lot of research and I get to watch live matches so I can be able to write a great article about them and now I write without having that feeling of whether it will be accepted or not. Hive has helped me always think far and wide so I can engage.

Not only do I make some savings from my Hive earnings but I have been able to purchase a laptop which I currently use to make blogging easy and fun to do and very soon, I am planning on purchasing a smart phone with my Hive and second layer tokens.

FRIENDSHIP This is indeed true, I don't know if i have had so much friends of facebook like I have had on this platform. This friends have been encouraging even though we do not know much about ourselves ad never seen ourselves,but knowing that everyday we come to this platform we have new friends and old ones who encourages us and makes us do better making us better than how we were before makes this place fun and interesting to be. The engagement on the site and on articles each and every person day because of the friends we get to meet everday as a result of quality and nice content we make daily.

I can't mention the names of so many friends i have come to talk with and chat with as a result of this platform and I happy I took the bull by it horn during that period because today, it is hard to find a good paying job because the economy is bad and poor.

If I want to list the many benefit, I wouldn't stop but I hope that these few points of mine will help not just old users but new userd and enourage them to keep striving and never relent effort because one day, we will be among the top users on Hive and will live to tell the story of how Hive platform was and how we've benefited from the.
