I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but at some point this year I crossed the Rubicon in my way of thinking. For the first time, the thought occurred to me that at some point in the (hopefully) near future, I could blog full-time on Hive.

Now, we're just at the preliminary stages of course, with a long way to go before we get there. But as of now, I'm actually starting to see the blueprint in my mind of being able to work on crypto alone. Much like those hybrid cars that are gently easing drivers away from fossil fuels, I can see a period where employment in the legacy economy is necessary before making the transition complete.

if we're talking about a timeline, that's less certain. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say five years from now, just to be on the safe side. The thought is to avoid any unnecessary pressure via time constraints, and allow the situation to unfold as it should.

We don't know exactly what the economy will be like that far in the future, or even how this current crisis will turn out. But my gut tells me that going forward, nothing will ever be the same again.

Remote control

With more individuals taking part in remote work than ever before, in many cases, the office will transition to the home and never return. I know that with a laptop and an internet connection, there's no longer any reason to remain bound to the old corporate culture. Workers will untether themselves from the ties that bind, into the boundless opportunities offered on the blockchain.

I can still remember when I worked in telephony, and all of the office politics involved. You always had to watch your back, or feel the knife blade against it ready to strike. It didn't matter if you were a good worker or not, someone always wanted what you had. I couldn't be happier to leave all of that behind, and blog to my hearts content from the comfort of my own home.

Those of us still working for a boss, will end up calling our own shots, and unleashing the pent-up creativity stored within. In fact, some of you likely arrived here for that very reason, and are now reaping the rewards of your wise decision. Soon we'll live in a brand-new year full of hope and promise. I. Can't. Wait.
