I'm starting to notice the people that return, only when the token price goes up... These are the guys who bail at the first sign of trouble, and then a year or so later, pop back in to partake of the newfound rewards. They did it on Steemit and are doing the same thing here on Hive. "Hey guys it's me (insert name here) this place seems to be hopping, I've been away for over a year and decided to come back now." They write a few posts, and then duck out again once things start getting dicey.

What they don't do is hang around and build when times are hard.

Now, we're not talking about those with a legitimate reason for being away, but the ones who repeatedly cut and run at the first sign of trouble. They come back, suck the blood out of the place and once they've swallowed that last drop, like a crypto-vampire, they fade away leaving others to prop up the edifice they abandoned.

It reminds me of a story I once read about a farmer who did the hard work of plowing, seeding and weeding a field. There were two sons, one was hard-working and never shirked from his duties, while the other took every opportunity for pleasure away from the toil on the farm. The father and his good son carefully nurtured the seedlings, protecting them from pests and dealing with the fluctuating costs and prices of his crop. In times of drought, his good son was always by his side sharing in the workload with the sweat of his brow, with the lazy son enjoying the bright lights of the big city.

Yet as soon as word reached him in the city of the profits being brought in back on the farm, the lazy son always returned to share in the bounty. "I'm back dad, I heard things were going well and this time I'll stay and pitch in." His father and brother eyed him warily, but because they loved him, he was welcomed back into the fold. He didn't share in the hard work necessary to produce the harvest, but always participated in the largesse.

I've been here for almost four years. Recently I read yet another of these "hey guys I'm back" posts or comments. Again, we're not talking about people that need to be away for one reason or another, but the same names who bail on us again and again whenever times get tough. The rebuilding and support are always left to somebody else. And just as the Sun rises in the east and sets in the west, you can always count on them to "pop in" when things get good again.

Imagine how much better things would be if they stayed and chipped in like a brigade of Amish all pitching in on a good old-fashioned barn raising. Then they could claim a share of the bounty as a result of their hard work and loyal effort.

We need more strong hands like that around here like the ones who stuck though it when LEO was 0.03 and Hive was 0.13. These individuals are now reaping the rewards from the digital fields they helped to plow. If you believe in the future of this platform, then hang around and help us build this place through the good times and the bad.

My hat is off to each and every one of you who's done so. Each post, comment and upvote, is like another brick being laid for the beautiful home we're building here. To everyone who's pitching in, you're an inspiration to us all.

Thank You So Much!
