I know exactly what you're talking about and they type of unrealistic, gushing fanboyism some affect as well. It reminds me of two individuals (who shall not be named) that posted "crypto lifestyle videos" when I first joined what later became Hive. They stayed at fancy hotels and gave off a message that crypto=quick riches and a movie star lifestyle.

When I talked to people it was more about the usefulness of the blockchain itself, and how my love for blogging had been restored after arriving. The blockchain freed me from Blogger where I didn't own my content and was subject to arcane hoop-jumping when my work was stolen.

There were also accounts of people in developing countries (and right here at home) uplifiting themselves (and others) through their own efforts and with the support of the community.

I can still remember the feeling I had when I found the Satoshi and the Bitcoin forum back in 2009 and thought: "OMG, this is going to change EVERYTHING!"

That crypto represents the future and that nothing would ever be the same again. It must be what it was like watching Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak popularize the first personal computers because they had the vison to blaze a path forward that others (Xerox) had given up on.

That's how I feel about crypto.
