Why will the blockchain metaverse outperform the facebook metaverse?

With the arrival of web 3.0 and all the applications that are being developed around it, new projects are appearing that promise to be revolutionary or out of the limits that we imagine. One project that has always been thought to create is a Metaverse like the one in the movie Ready Player One, where you can create an avatar in augmented reality and interact with everything around you.
Facebook, a company very famous for creating the social network of web 2.0 most used worldwide, is planning to create a metaverse where users can interact with each other, with digital objects and with the physical world through their avatar in a virtual environment. In addition to creating applications in the virtual world as well as jobs, entertainment, work, etc... everything you can imagine that is already done on the internet, but now you can be inside it all. But unlike facebook's plan to create its cryptocurrency the Diem that has been canceled by all possible sides, this metaverse plan has already been able to receive 2-year funding of 50 million and if they are having success in the tests then the metaverse project will receive more funding.
And although Facebook foresees that it will have total success to offer different products and services in a decade, as they said "The metaverse will not be built overnight by a single company" and that is why they have made collaboration deals with politicians, experts, and partners to ensure the success of the project as well as non-profit associations to ensure the inclusion of all people. Yesterday Facebook has published its roadmap which allows us to see how the metaverse plan is structured and how it will be developed.
But something to keep in mind is that this facebook metaverse project is centralized and by centralized I mean that you don't own anything you can do there, since it will repeat the same pattern of the web 2.0 social networks where facebook can delete your account and you can lose everything you have done no matter what.
But unlike facebook and its centralized plans, the crypto world is also successfully developing a metaverse that will be decentralized and interoperable. This is the Decentraland open-world project that encompasses among other things a decentralized, community-owned virtual world that is being built on the Ethereum blockchain. So we will possibly see all the applications created on this blockchain also join the Decentraland metaverse.
And another thing that is also worth mentioning is that the Decentraland project is in a more advanced state of facebook and we may have it in less time than the facebook metaverse since the advantage that developers have to build on the blockchain is that you can have support from all over the world as it is something decentralized and avoids the politics and bureaucracy that delay the progress of any project.
So although facebook's idea of creating a metaverse accessible to all, the truth is that as the policies behind the project are centralized it is a project that will still take time to appear as everyone wants some property rights, instead soon more advances will be made in the different blockchains like Ethereum or binance smart chain where single or joint metaverses will be achieved more efficiently and in less time as everyone can take a part without legal problems.
Also, I think that when Hive develops its multiverse it will also have good results as it will be able to unite everything we do in one place so that we can be there inside, imagine playing splinterlands but seeing in augmented reality how your monsters fight each other or leveling up as a famous musician in rising Star. The sky is the limit as some say, but in the case of the blockchain metaverse there is no established limit, that's why even if facebook and its metaverse project have a lot of money for development, there is no clear objective at the moment.
