New rules impacting prices

With the new Thorns, Magic Reflect and Return Fire rules in the Splinterlands crypto game, we must shed new light in the Amplify ability, which had been fairly useless up until this point.

Surely, some people already know how powerful Amplify can be because of Mylor Crowling users, but players on a budget usually won't see powerful Legendary summoner like Lir Deepswimmer and almost nobody uses Owster Rotwell.

Thanks to the new rules, these three cards in particular have gained profound glory: Venari Spellsmith, Queen Mycelia and Grandmaster Rathe. They've been underdogs with a lot less use than expected, but newfound strength in both Modern and Wild matches should make them a priority in any collection.

A level 1 Grandmaster Rathe isn't too expensive yet, priced at ~$24.50 (although that's $4 higher than it was last month!), but we're really looking for at least Silver League Monsters we can purchase on a budget. Queen Mycelia is cheaper than a level 2 Grandmaster Rathe, but Venari Spellsmith tops our charts, available for $21.50 at level 4, which is maxed for Silver League.

When going through potential purchases, I advise considering what league can you really achieve within your budget. Champion is far too expensive for me, and so is Diamond, because good monsters are a must in order to win matches. That's why I shop cards thinking of Silver and Gold League, since I get reset to Silver when a season ends and I can only realistically battle using my own collection in Gold League.

Gladly, I already own Venari Spellsmith, and I'm not going to buy any summoner cards for a while, so I want to pick up a level 2 Queen Mycelia before its price goes to the moon. Who knows how many cards will get Amplify in the next expansion, if any at all? Prices of Chaos Legion Amplify cards might shoot through the roof!
