HBD Rewards are Sweet!
For around a year now i have realized that if you hold HBD in your savings you can earn 20% per year. That is quite amazing especially for me that i was in the army during the first half of 2022. Thus, with limited time i could actually earn some $$$ without doing anything.
I don't have much money, in general, to invest in crypto and everything i currently own in Hive has been achieved through post-creation and curation. Thus, with me only having around 100 HBD, i decided to give it a go and to my surprise, i managed to earn more than 20 HBD.
You see you actually claim your HBD per month and basically compound the earning amount monthly. So let's do some quick math and see what could happen in a month. Let's say i have 100 and i would suppose to earn 20 HBD. That means that per month i would be earning 1.66 HBD. So if the first month i basically add that amount to my total HBD i will have 101.66. Thus the next month instead of 1.66 i will earn 1.69. The amount may seem small but everything counts if you ask me!
At some point, i also realized that there are many people that are actually earning doing the exact same thing and not only that but i am one of those at rock bottom. There is a monthly post by @geekgirl regarding the interest paid each month along with a top 500 earners list.
That made me use all of my HBD rewards from posting along some liquid Hive to increase my HBD stake and ofc my earnings. Now i have around 380 HBD which is around 3 times the 120+ HBD i earned. This also means that i will receive around 76 HBD per year, or maybe a bit more with the compounding, or around 6.5 HBD per month.
Still, i am not even close to the top 500 list, the last one receives literally double the amount i will receive from now on but hey it's something. Around 6.5 dollars per month is 2 coffees at hand or around 10+ eggs. I will try to increase my 380 HBD to 600 by September of 2023, which will be hard for me but still, i have to do it!
