I don't know about you but it's quite sad to see so many companies out there laying off their people. Before i talk more about why it feels so sad for me and display some numbers we need to take into account what's these tech giants saying about that.

To begin with, there are 2 main reasons behind the layoffs and that's the perspective of Tech giants, i don't know whether that's the case or don't but surely it has something to do with a percentage of these layoffs.

The first reason is the Pandemic or actually the end of the pandemic. You see even though we are happy that the pandemic is over and many people along some entire industries like tourism suffered, others made tons of money. One of these sectors that made tons of money was the IT industry. The reason is pretty simple, to be honest.

Everyone was home and could not go anywhere, thus his whole life had to be around the internet. Mostly everyone needed a pc and internet in general to work, internet was used for ordering food and groceries or buying literally anything, paying the bills even for having fun. Thus, most companies had to take advantage of that factor and ofc hired IT people to be competitive.

The second reason is the war and the chain of effects that led to huge gas bills and uncertainty. Fewer people have buying power and money in general thus they will buy less and at the same time as the pandemic is over way less time people will be on internet.

Now let's take a look and discover which Tech giants fired people and what is the percentage in relation to the total employees.

Amazon 1% Microsoft 1% Salesforce 1.3% Zendesk 5.5% DocuSign 9% Shopify 10% Twilio 11% GoFundMe 12% Chime 12% Meta 13% Redfin 13% Lyft 13% Stripe 14% Patreon 17% Coinbase 18% Opendoor 18% Intel Corporation 20% Snap Inc 20% Flipboard 21% Dapper Labs 22% Robinhood 23% Twitter 40%-50%

In general, it is estimated that around 200000 people lost their jobs also note that even if for example you see Amazon at 1% it's a small number, we are talking about 10000 employees. The sad part is that these people are out of jobs during the hardest time that we all face at least these past 50 years.

Of course, some of them have already found jobs but others had to move to a smaller house, or another neighborhood sold some of their stuff, or even moved to another country or their mother country in order to deal with this crisis. As you can imagine people who had families affected as well, just imagine one day losing at least half of your total house income.

Overall i don't see the whole situation getting better soon but hopefully, mankind will overcome this madness as well and we will see brighter days as well.

The day for Leo Power Up has finally come. In case you are unaware, once each month on the 15th there is an initiative going on where anyone can power up as much leo as he/she wants to but the difference is that there are some prizes along the way if certain criteria are met.

For example, if anyone powers up over 150 LEO he is eligible for delegation starting at 2k to even 60k for 3 weeks. Adding to that if anyone powers up 2k or 4k leo then they will earn for certain a 4k and a 20k delegation for almost a month, 25 days to be exact.

I don't know what's your take on that but it's a pretty cool initiative if you ask me and if you want to learn more you can click here. Another reason that the initiative is so cool is the previous results that showed that the vast majority of the community is actually staking and will keep on staking! Ahhh and before i forget i just staked 160 LEO!
