About three weeks ago I presented a precious coin "1 oz Colorized Congo Silver Lipleurodon Coin (BU) 2022" from the prehistoric life series issued by the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A few days ago I acquired another coin from this collection specifically "1 oz Colorized Congo Silver Archeopteryx Coin (BU)" and I wanted to present it to you.

If you follow me a bit, you already know that I have a predilection for colored coins and that I am also a fan of African silver coins with nature motifs. Well, this coin has it all, its iconography refers to prehistoric fauna. The engraving is of high quality and the bright colors make it really attractive. It has a very limited circulation of 2000 pieces which makes it perfect for collecting.

Coin Highlights:

Arrives in a protective plastic capsule! 5th coin in the Prehistoric Life Series! Limited mintage of only 2,000 colorized coins! Contains 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver in BU condition. Bears a face value of 20 Francs backed by the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Obverse features the national coat of arms. Reverse includes the colorized depiction of an archaeopteryx perched in a tree.

On the obverse we can see the typical iconography of this series and others with the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of Congo. With the typical elephant's tusks and the head of a leopard. The shields on African coins are often very attractive.

On the back we can see the image of an archeopteryx, a kind of dinosaur with the appearance of a prehistoric bird that flew over the earth about 150 million years ago. This prehistoric dinosaur that lived in tropical environments stands out for its bright colors, very well represented on this coin. We must highlight the detail of the claws on the wings.
