How to create a wax wallet and set up your GM frens profile!
You probably use the #gmfrens tag once each day on Leo threads. If you do, you earn 1 GM token everyday. For you to receive your Gm tokens daily, you need a WAX wallet. I have a number of friends that are asking how I set up my own profile because they have not. So I decided to make this tutorial so that anyone can follow it and never loose their GM tokens. I guess it might be a little long tutorial, so its better to break it down into parts.
So here are the 2 things we will do in this tutorial:
- Create a Wax wallet
- Set up the wallet in GM frens website
Alright, lets start with the very first item - to get the Wax wallet.
Create a Wax wallet
There are 2 exchange platforms I recommend for your wax wallet. They are Wax Cloud Wallet and Anchor. For this tutorial, I will demonstrate with Wax Cloud Wallet. So lets see the steps:
Note: I have a significant mobile audience. So I will demonstrate the steps using a mobile device.
Step 1: Log on to https://all-access.wax.io/. There are two ways to create an account. You can either sign up with any of your logged in social media accounts (Arrow A), or using your email (Arrow B), check image below.
I recommend using option A. So since your Gmail is probably already logged in, click on the Gmail icon or any of the other icons if you have their account.
I used Gmail. So after clicking the Gmail icon, the next window will ask me to select the gmail account. I clicked my gmail account.
Step 2: Agree to the terms (after probably reading it if you have the time) and make sure you are at least 18 years of age. Then click Accept and Continue. In the next page, you are expected to pay for your wax wallet. There are a number of options including Coinbase and Moonpay. I guess the easiest option is to get someone to transfer 5 Wax to the funding address and memo provided (In my own case, the funding address = newuser.wax and memo = hmc4eDOTwam). Your own memo will be unique. Check image below:
Note: Once the 5 wax is sent to the address and memo, the wallet creation would automatically be completed. Now you can fetch your Wax wallet address and update your profile on the GM frens website.
Step 3: Now that you have created your account and logged in, you need to get your wax wallet address. Its easy. Click on the menu icon on top right to reveal your wax address. You can highlight and copy the address. Check Image below.
Updating your profile in Gm frens
Now that you have a wallet address, its time to set up your profile on GM frens website so that your GM tokens are sent to your wallet. Lets see how to do that.
Note: I will still use a mobile device to demonstrate this step because of my audience. You need Hive keychain wallet app to complete this process.
Step 1: Open the browser of your Hive Keychain wallet and enter the following address: https://gmfrens.fun/profile
Step 2: Enter your username in the box provided and click SIGN IN. In the new window, click ADD ADDRESS. (Check Image below).
Step 3: Paste your wax address copied earlier and click Update
If you were able to follow the steps above, congratulations, you have linked created your wax account and linked it to your profile on GM FRENS website. You daily tokens will no longer be burned, but sent to your wallet.
