How to implement a daily commenting strategy on Hive to make more money from your blog.

The first section of our guide to making money as a blogger on Hive went over how to get noticed on day 1 by taking advantage of the introduceyourself tag on your very first post.

We discussed showing that you’re here to add value to the community via quality content and ultimately contribute to the blockchain’s security by staking a portion of your rewards.

If staking HIVE is good enough for those who you’re trying to get juicy upvotes from, then they’ve gotta see that it’s also good enough for you!

Now as promised, here is the second section of our guide, focused on how to come up with a daily commenting strategy to engage with those in the community with stake.

Implementing a daily commenting strategy on Hive

The goal of your daily commenting strategy is to get people to upvote it, click your profile and upvote your latest blog or follow you.

You’re trying to get people with stake and a ready made following within the community to recognise you and what you’re doing.

Even if you don’t get an upvote straight away, a reply is a good result because you’re planting the seed of a long-term relationship that may lead to more upvotes down the line.

Step 1. Go to Hive’s LeoFinance front-end

For maximum exposure, we’re going to use the LeoFinance front-end on Hive at leofinance.io.

LeoFinance is the finance community on Hive and one of the most popular in the entire Hive Web3 ecosystem.

If you want to get noticed, then this community is the best place to be.

Hint: As you’re trying to make money blogging on Hive, basically anything you’re writing about can be tied into this community’s topic of finance.

Keep that in mind and take full advantage of the exposure you will get by being here.

Step 2. Comment on each of the Curator’s Picks at the top

As soon as you open up LeoFinance, you’re greeted with 5 picks that community curators have sourced as being quality, discussion-worthy pieces of content:

These are entirely human picked and don’t rely on any sort of curation algorithm like Hive’s popular or hot streams.

All that matters in this regard is that they’re at the top of the home page and the first thing that EVERYONE sees.

Everyone, including those with stake are more likely to click these posts and give them an upvote because one of the team member’s has highlighted it.

Leave a comment with your opinion on the topic.

That’s it.

If you’ve never written a piece of related content, then don’t link to anything in your comment!

Hint: Don’t ever comment pLz vOtE mY bLoG sIr.

Only link to your blog under relevant anchor text if applicable or start a sentence with “As I wrote about on my blog yesterday…”

Play the long game by building a relationship on the back of adding value.

NEVER beg for votes in comments.

Step 3. Comment on posts in the Popular stream

Now scroll down a tad and on the left hand side of LeoFinance, you’ll see the Popular stream:

These blogs are in this tab not because they’re necessarily the best or most discussion-worthy, but because they have earned the most upvotes.

All that matters to you however, is that they’re readily accessible via the LeoFinance home page and getting eyeballs on them every second of the day.

You need to also be putting yourself in the comments section of these posts!

Hint. The exact same commenting guidelines that we just spoke about in the previous section should also be applied here.

Keep in mind that these are in the popular tab because those with large stakes have already voted on them and likely have a relationship with the author.

If you play your cards right, you could be friends with the friend of a whale! (lol)

But seriously, these sorts of relationships are the key to making money on Hive.

All stemming from a daily commenting strategy that consistently puts your name in front of those with stake and shows that you’re here to add value.

So what are you waiting for?

Set a target of 10 comments per day.

That’s a comment on all 5 curators' choices and the top 5 posts in the popular stream.

Best of probabilities to you.

PS. Yep you guessed it, there’s a part 3 to this guide to making money as a blogger on Hive!

This next section talks about how to come up with niche specific ideas for your daily blog.

And then how to use the ready made LeoFinance community to build a lifelong following on your own Web3 Hive account.
