Direct from the desk of Dane Williams.

Hey team,

Whether we agree with how Dan Larimer's career has played out, he's still had an effect on every single one of us here on Hive.

There's no denying his tech works and he has laid an excellent foundation for Web 3.0 to be built upon.

Dan Larimer Leaves Block.One

But did you see the news this week that our very own Dan Larimer has left Block.one.

After Larimer primarily developed the EOS blockchain, Block.one went onto raise $4 billion in their ICO.

An amount that most of us in the crypto community no doubt expected the company to do more with.

Voice was meant to be the great Steem/Hive killer after all!

After resigning as CTO of Block.one, Larimer has said that he's looking to pursue personal projects, including building censorship-resistant technologies.

Not a ringing endorsement for Voice, but we already knew that Hive was already in a better position in that respect.

Money can get you a lot of things, but it also brings a lot of complications with it.

“I will continue on my mission to create free-market, voluntary solutions for securing life, liberty, property, and justice for all."

“I do not know exactly what is next, but I am leaning toward building more censorship-resistant technologies. I have come to believe that you cannot provide ‘liberty as a service’ and, therefore, I will focus my attention on creating tools that people can use to secure their own freedom.”

The EOS Technicals

An announcement of this magnitude on the day Bitcoin rejects 40K was never going to see EOS fare well, but let's take a look at just where we're at.

Bring up the EOS daily.

EOS/USD Daily:

You can see that price was already pushing into a confluence of trend line and horizontal resistance.

The setup was there for the sellers to take back control of the market, at least in the short term.

The Larimer resignation was just the kicker that they needed.

Isn't it funny how fundamentals so often don't override technicals, but instead they just help the technicals play out.

Well I love it at least haha.

Now the question becomes will we see our very own Dan Larimer back on Hive?

We're at the very least an excellent, decentralised place to promote whatever his next project is.

Certainly better than the current alternatives.

Best of probabilities to you,
