While all the recent price hype is nothing more than a pump/dump on that Korean exchange, there's no denying that long term value is being built thanks to the requirement that anyone playing Splinterlands needs Hive Power.
The more success dApps running on Hive have, the less HIVE supply there will be sitting on exchanges.
It's as simple as that :)
