In today's article we will talk about a project with innovative ideas, which will contribute to the development of Decentralized Finance: the Elastic Swap.
Elastic Swap is the first Automated Market Maker - AMM - to reshuffle tokens on the market. The protocol aims to satisfy the need to obtain liquidity for elastic tokens, by developing a decentralized exchange to trade this type of token.
Before we understand the benefits of using Elastic Swap, let's understand a few concepts.
Automated Market Maker: The Revolution in Asset Trading
The technology implemented by Hayden Adams at Uniswap and responsible for revolutionizing Decentralized Finance was created with the aim of removing intermediaries from commerce, being able to carry out exchange transactions using different crypto assets.
Its differential is the possibility that its operation occurs in a decentralized way, without the need for an order book and in a totally autonomous way. Its materialization is only possible thanks to the creation of several liquidity funds, in charge of storing crypto assets and acting as a buying/selling tool. Therefore, when using an AMM, there is no need to trade with a person, but only with a smart contract. The interaction, unlike peer-to-peer, is known as peer-to-contrat.
Rebase Tokens: What are they? Where they live?
The rebase tokens are assets that use algorithmic mechanisms to adjust and stabilize their price, according to their supply and demand, by changing the number of tokens circulating in the market, or supply.
Therefore, while the price of the token changes its trading value in different markets, the algorithm can identify and carry out the process of burning or issuance of tokens to keep its price stable. This makes the supply adjustable and no longer based on a fixed value.
With this, the process of issuing tokens that are backed by some other asset is simplified. For example, tokens backed by the dollar, other fiat currency, or even other asset classes in the traditional market. It is worth mentioning that after performing the rebase, the amount of tokens that are being withheld will be modified at the end of the process.
Elastic Swap: creating liquidity for rebase tokens
With its AMM, Elastic Swap can hold parity for two different assets, which are allocated within the same liquidity pool. This is because there is no need to call any "synchronize()" functions within the liquidity pools to rebalance and update the price of the tokens in question. In this way, the tokens can constantly maintain parity and stability, and still avoid excessive losses due to impermanent loss.
The $TIC token is responsible for the native governance of the protocol, is launched on the Avalanche network and is available for trading on the Ethereum Mainnet. The Avax blockchain was chosen due to the low gas rates that made testing easy at first. Furthermore, the project aims to implement this solution on different types of EVMs in the crypto market.
Currently, there are two ways to acquire $TIC tokens: the first is by being a contributing member of the project and the second way is through yield farming. The issuance of these tokens will be phased out over time, to ensure value retention and promote scarcity of the asset.
ShapeShift 🤝 Elastic Swap
Elastic Swap has become the newest partner of ShapeShift DAO. Its goal is to create, for the first time, support for rebase tokens using AMM technology. Therefore, the union of these dApps can optimize the use of users and meet the demands of the market and developers. All this is done through smart contracts that have an easy level of integration, without the need for permission from a trusted third party and further diversifying the use cases of cryptocurrencies.
This partnership will allow FOXy holders to trade it on the Elastic Swap platform and/or directly on the ShapeShift DAO platform! Through the partnership made by our sub-DAO, vFOX, Elastic Swap made this installation possible for holders of the token, benefiting both.
How can I access FOXy?
FOXy tokens can be obtained through the FOX deposit on the ShapeShift DAO V2 platform. The value of the FOXy token follows the FOX price and this value begins to accumulate after the confirmation of the deposit, earning interest. With a Elastic Swap integration, you can also buy them directly from it or from ShapeShift.
Profits earned come from the Tokamak Reactor, which pays rewards in $TOKE to the ShapeShift platform. From there, revenue received from Tokemak can be converted to FOX and thus shared with project holders. Antes de entender las ventajas de usar Elastic Swap, entendamos algunos conceptos.
Automated Market Maker: la revolución en el comercio de activos
La tecnología implementada por Hayden Adams en Uniswap y responsable de revolucionar las Finanzas Descentralizadas fue creada con el objetivo de quitar intermediarios del comercio, pudiendo realizar transacciones de intercambio utilizando diferentes criptoactivos.
Su diferencial es la posibilidad de que su funcionamiento se produzca de forma descentralizada, sin necesidad de libro de pedidos y de forma totalmente autónoma. Su materialización solo es posible gracias a la creación de varios fondos de liquidez, encargados de almacenar los criptoactivos y actuar como herramienta de compra/venta. Por lo tanto, al usar un AMM, no hay necesidad de intercambiar con una persona, sino solo con un contrato inteligente. La interacción, a diferencia de peer-to-peer, se conoce como peer-to-contrat.
Rebase Tokens: ¿Qué son? ¿Donde viven?
Los rebase tokens son activos que utilizan mecanismos algorítmicos para ajustar y estabilizar su precio, de acuerdo con su oferta y demanda, al cambiar la cantidad de tokens que circulan en el mercado, o oferta.
Por lo tanto, mientras el precio del token cambia su valor comercial en diferentes mercados, el algoritmo puede identificar y llevar a cabo el proceso de quema o emisión de tokens para mantener estable su precio. Esto hace que el suministro sea ajustable y ya no se base en un valor fijo.
Con esto, se simplifica el proceso de emisión de tokens que están respaldados por algún otro activo. Por ejemplo, tokens respaldados por el dólar, otra moneda fiduciaria o incluso otras clases de activos en el mercado tradicional. Cabe mencionar que luego de realizar el rebase, la cantidad de tokens que se están reteniendo se modificará al final del proceso.
Elastic Swap: creando liquidez para tokens de rebase
Con su AMM, Elastic Swap puede mantener la paridad de dos activos diferentes, que se asignan dentro del mismo grupo de liquidez. Esto se debe a que no es necesario llamar a ninguna función de "sincronización ()" dentro de los fondos de liquidez para reequilibrar y actualizar el precio de los tokens en cuestión. De esta manera, los tokens pueden mantener la paridad y la estabilidad constantemente, y aun así evitar pérdidas excesivas por pérdida impermanente.
El token $TIC es responsable de la gobernanza nativa del protocolo, se lanza en la red Avalanche y está disponible para el comercio en Ethereum Mainnet. Se eligió la cadena de bloques Avax debido a las bajas tasas de gas que facilitaron las pruebas al principio. Por ello, la unión de estas dApps puede optimizar el uso de los usuarios y satisfacer las demandas del mercado y de los desarrolladores. Todo esto se hace mediante contratos inteligentes que tienen un fácil nivel de integración, sin necesidad de permiso de un tercero de confianza y diversificando aún más los casos de uso de las criptomonedas.
¡Esta asociación permitirá a los titulares de FOXy intercambiarlo en la plataforma Elastic Swap y/o directamente en la plataforma ShapeShift DAO! A través de la asociación realizada por nuestro subDAO, vFOX, Elastic Swap hizo posible esta instalación para los titulares del token, beneficiando a ambos.
¿Cómo puedo acceder a FOXy?
Los tokens FOXy se pueden obtener a través del depósito FOX en la plataforma V2 de ShapeShift DAO. El valor del token FOXy sigue el precio de FOX y este valor comienza a acumularse después de la confirmación del depósito, generando intereses. Con la Integración de Elastic Swap, también puedes comprarlos directamente desde él o desde ShapeShift.
Las ganancias obtenidas provienen del Tokamak Reactor, que paga recompensas en $TOKE a la plataforma ShapeShift.
