In today's experience, we'll take a deeper dive into the ShapeShift platform and show you the new feature on their platform: the participation of ATOM.

What you will learn today:

🦊 How to create a ShapeShift wallet

  • Click on Connect wallet.

  • You will be shown several options. Opt for the ShapeShift Wallet.

  • The keywords of your wallet will be available. Click on the words shown and write them on a piece of paper. Do not save them in your notebook or file in your cloud. The best storage place will always be offline.
    • To make sure you have written them down, you will be asked to indicate some of them.

  • Create a password for your wallet. Avoid simple combinations -birthdays, surnames, etc.-. It is recommended to use password management tools such as KeePass.

Once you've done all the steps, you'll have your ShapeShift wallet set up and ready to go! The wallet supports the Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Cosmos blockchains.

With our wallet in hand, we can now make the stake of ATOM on the ShapeShift platform 🚀

🌌 How to earn 15% a.a. at ATOM on the ShapeShift platform

  • The first step is to receive your tokens at the address of your new wallet.

  • In the platform search bar, search for “Cosmos” and select the ATOM token - native -

  • You will be redirected to the Cosmos native token tab. Here you can send and receive ATOM natively.
    • In order to deposit your ATOMs in the ShapeShift wallet, click on "Receive" in the upper right corner of the screen.

  • Clicking the button will show you your public Cosmos blockchain address. Only ATOM can be deposited on the Cosmos network. This address does not support gift-wrapped or gift-wrapped assets on other networks.
  • To deposit your tokens, simply use the QR Code generated by the ShapeShift platform or copy your provided address.

  • Once the tokens have been received for your ShapeShift wallet, it will be possible to monitor their price variation in real time through the graph made available to users. In addition, there is also information such as Market Cap, Volume in the last 24 hours and Daily Change.
  • Now that you have ATOM tokens in your wallet, you can stake them to receive incentives for depositing them!
    • To do so, click on the DeFi tab.

  • The platform will present all investment options to ShapeShift users. With your wallet, you can stake on the Ethereum and Cosmos blockchain simultaneously.
  • With your ATOMs in wallet, select the Cosmos token to deposit it.

  • You will find a brief explanation about staking. For more details about the activity, click More Info. Mindful of the details, go to Take Staking.

  • The platform allows you to deposit any amount to receive rewards in ATOM. You can choose to determine a percentage of your capital or enter an amount to stake the token. Once done, confirm your choice.

  • When we send tokens to another address, it is always allowed to choose the transfer speed. Therefore, select the fees you are willing to pay to send your ATOMs to the ShapeShift platform: the average amount is enough for the tokens to be deposited quickly. After selecting, click Sign and Transmit to make the participation.

  • You will be prompted again to confirm all deposit information, including estimated annualized rewards. Aware of the transaction data, Confirm and Transmit the information.

  • Once this is done, the transaction ID related to the ATOM bet will be displayed and the name of the responsible validator - ShapeShift DAO.

In a few moments, the transaction will be complete and your ATOMs will already be rewarding you for depositing them into the ShapeShift DAO validator!

At any time, you can withdraw them to your wallet and transfer them wherever you want.

  • When requesting the loot, remember that they will remain locked for 14 days, during which they will not get any rewards. After 14 days, your ATOMs will return to your wallet.

The participation of ATOM is just one of the additional features of the ShapeShift DAO wallet. Here you can custody Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC-20 and ATOM tokens.

Our intention is to become a place where our users can find everything they need in one place.

🌌 Cómo ganar 15% a.a. en ATOM en la plataforma ShapeShift

  • Cuando enviamos tokens a otra dirección, siempre se permite elegir la velocidad de transferencia.
