The billionaire status is a status envied by a lot of people, I know so many people who just want to be a billionaire in their lifetime before they go to the great beyond (I mean, before they die). Looking at billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett, The Walton family, Larry Page, Elon Musk, Jack Ma, and many more, the status of billionaire can be very envious, seeing that these people can give out a lot of money to a lot of people and seeing that they are regarded as the top 1 percent of the world. Let me clear the air again, being a billionaire requires you being valuable which means you must be able to give something of value to people who will be willing to pay something of value for the value being offered. But even in the midst of the 1 percent of people, we still have another 1% who are regarded as higher billionaires. Just like the book Animal farm, “Not all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” so is it in the billionaires world, Not all billionaires are equal, some are more equal than others.

The race for financial freedom is one, the race for billionaire status is another and the difference between billionaires will be explained in this post. There are billionaires in cash, billionaires in papers. A lot of billionaires own private companies while others own public companies, a few invest in stocks and hedge funds while some own the wealth of a country.

As billionaires of private companies, their net worth are not affected by the rise and fall of Wall Street, or any other place where stock market determine their valuation. If private billionaires need funds, they have to sell their shares to private investors who will pay for the shares in the company or they will go to banks and request for loans which are very low in interest and do not require a sooner time to pay.

Public company billionaires are valued depending on the number of shares they own in the company depending on the price of the shares. At this point, the billionaires here can sell their shares and become really liquidly rich but it would always affect the company especially when their wealth is tied to just one company. Unlike this set of billionaires, another type of billionaires have their funds scattered in so many publicly traded companies and they can sell their shares easily compared to the first other set of billionaires. These set of billionaires have access to funds compared to the previous.

Another set of billionaires have their funds in liquid forms as they own or control countries wealth, and can determine how the money is spent, either for personal use or for the country. These set of billionaires are different and have their wealth can’t be measured accurately.

I guess you now understand the class of billionaire you would like to fall under if your race is to be a billionaire.
