The Canadian government's attack on Freedom Convoy's crypto funds is BULLISH

ZH did a longer explanation of it yesterday, but essentially, if your crypto is held on a private wallet (not at an exchange), it's safe. If you control the keys, you control the crypto. Or, as we say in the precious metals world:

If your tokens (or even your keys and other permissions) are held by someone else, that's their money. I've said it for years - never keep your coins anywhere other than in a private wallet. Funds held at exchanges (crypto banks) can be seized, regulated, frozen, taxed, hacked, loaned out, lost, stolen, and so on. It's a bit like holding your gold bars in a bank deposit box. It's safe, until it isn't.

Crypto prices fell during the period deputy Freeland was attempting the crypto crackdown, as they often do when headlines seem to indicate a weakness in the cryptocurrency strategy. "We can just take your coins!", they claim. But whenever they try, they fail. This latest attempt, on the world stage for all to see, PROVES that nobody can do a thing about cryptocurrency held in private wallets!

I'm convinced our current price correction is temporary. And if ~35k is support for BTC now, the next leg up could be quite explosive. Those 200k levels we've been targeting for years are starting to come into focus.

There's no guarantee we won't see further downside, especially driven by political or financial events, but for the most part it appears the bear market is running out of steam. Perhaps as more people realize the attempts to control real cryptos aren't working, and see them as alternatives to corrupt and tyrannical currency systems, BTC will move up and re-test the 69k high.

In short, no.

There are three main reasons this Hive account (and associated donations) are not under attack:

  1. We aren't very big. (Mo money, mo problems!?) The main Bitcoin fund raised 22 BTC ($1m USD) within just a day of the Gofundme and Givesendgo funds being frozen. Large sums of what the media calls "dark money" were also raised on other platforms such as Tallycoin. That attracted major attention. On Hive, we're still under a grand in total donations.
  2. We're planning only peaceful and legal actions. We demand a return to freedom in Canada, and if that's against the law, then the law is wrong. Peace and freedom must be restored. We are operating within current laws, which allow convoys, flags, signs, rallies, etc. We are not in contact with the organizers of the Ottawa protest (which was violently removed), and have decided to direct our funds toward a regional (Southern BC) Freedom Convoy event. There's little or no political desire (or legal ability) to go after this Hive account.
  3. There's no way to freeze or seize this Hive account, aside from hacking the involved computers, or physically stealing the private master key. Someone could decree/demand/order the funds frozen, but not actually freeze them (like banks do with accounts) or take control of them.

That doesn't mean what we're doing here isn't important, and won't have a positive impact in restoring freedom! We have a good thing going, with our relatively small - but focused - legal and peaceful plan.

Thanks to post/comment payouts, direct donations, and tips, we now have:

  • 519.779 HIVE (liquid)
  • 126.758 HP (powering down)
  • over 10k HIVE delegated

Despite the crypto pullback, at current exchange rates, that's about $750 CAD!

The general idea we had when this account was started - plus feedback received from the community and donors thus far - is helping shape a plan for the use of the funds.

The goal of ending all Covid mandates remains the same, and we intend to use peaceful public actions (including convoys and rallies) to bring it about. We have the right to gather and to have our voices heard. The convoy method/theme has been powerful so far, so whatever we do will build on that strength.

For the past several weeks, every Saturday, there has been a massive convoy of hundreds of trucks and thousands of supporters, which gathers from towns throughout Southern BC and meets for a huge rally at the USA/Canada border crossing in Osoyoos. Skim this clip for a taste of what they've been up to:

I know some of the organizers of this convoy and rally. I've been posting the flyers circulating through the local underground here on the blockchain, such as:

Yesterday, instead of a slow roll convoy and a "border bear hug", the strategy was reversed! Convoys gathered from towns and headed North to Salmon Arm, and conducted a huge "freedom chain" by linking arms along Highway #1. Some footage has already been uploaded of the early action:

What's next? That's up to all of us! We're able to give input (through the Okanagan freedom community and underground meetups), and that input that is actually considered. Grassroots movements are amazing that way. We've already brought forth ideas mentioned in comments on our previous posts - thank you! Please feel free to give us more.

$750 (and rising, if donations continue to come in) will fuel up and decorate several smaller trucks, or a couple big rigs! That would significantly add to an upcoming convoy, as soon as this coming Saturday. We would record and upload a video and writeup of our participation. After, if donors think it's worth funding another action, we'll do it!
