I see this question "How to make a profit in Cryptobrewmaster" very often in comments and Discord. I must admit I had to find my way to increase the amount of CBM, but I managed to do so. In this blog I share with you how I do this.
Please do take note that the game is still in development and things can and will change.
I also take a look at the newly released enhancer cards.

Make money by brewing beers

First of all this game is about brewing beer, but also a lot about percentages.
Ingredients and beers have five different qualities:
Neutral - Good - Excellent - Outstanding - Excellent - Masterpiece

You can influence the outcome of a brew or ingredient in two ways:

Keep the building at 100%
Use better quality ingredients.

For rule number 1 I would advise you to always keep your buildings at 100%. The repair costs are quite low and when the building is degraded too much you still need to repair it.

With rule number 2 you can play around a little. Here I have an example of a European Lager brew. When you use 5 ingredients of a certain quality you have over 80% chance on a beer of that quality.
That’s quite high, but you do have to collect all these ingredients first. And still there is a chance on a lower quality beer.

What I mostly do is use three ingredients of the quality that I want and add two cheap neutral ingredients. This way I don’t have to rent all of the buildings.

Here’s an example of three outstanding ingredients and two neutral ones: As you can see there is still a high chance on an outstanding beer, but also on a neutral one. They sell for the following prizes:

On the outstanding beers I make a bit of profit. With the neutral one I lose some CBM and with the good one just a little bit. The excellent and masterpiece beers give a really nice profit. And when we take a look at my brewing history we see the following:

20% of the beers is neutral (loss) 60% of the beers is outstanding (profit) 20% of the beers is excellent (good profit)

So the excellent beers make up for the neutral ones. Even when the amount of neutral ones is higher.
And I also sometimes get a masterpiece. Another tip is not to sell the neutral beers. I use the neutral ones to drink from my backpack to regain energy.
I think this is cheaper than drinking in the bar and I need the energy to keep my buildings running.

You can play a little with the ingredients depending on which ones you have.
Here are some more examples:

Three outstanding, one good and one neutral ingredient: As you can see the percentages change when you add other quality ingredients. By changing a neutral ingredient in a good one the percentage on a neutral beer halves.

Two excellent, one outstanding and two neutral ingredients: When adding more excellent ingredients the chance on a masterpiece also increases significantly.

Enhancer cards

A couple of days the enhancer cards were released. With these cards you can upgrade lower quality ingredient cards.

How does it work? A good water enhancement card can change two neutral water cards into one good water card. A magnificient ale yeast card can change two excellent, but also 4 outstanding, 8 good or 16 neutral ale yeast cards into a magnificent card. So the magnificent cards are the best, but they are also scarce. When you buy an enhancement pack you have a 2% chance on a masterpiece enhancement card.

The high chance on good card and the high price (4,99 HBD for 5 cards) is holding me back to buy a pack now. For now I'll stick to my strategy and wait until more of these cards get on the market for reasonable prices.
