Splinterlands - Share Your Battle - Xenith Archer Edition

This week’s “Share Your Battle” is a cool one! We will have the pleasure to battle with the Xenith Archer and discuss some advantages of this card. Furthermore, we can explore possible ways to play this interesting card and talk about possible cards to play in support with the Xenith Archer in order to secure some wins. Last but not least we will take a look at two different examples of a battle to clarify some strategies!

Xenith Archer

The star of this post: Xenith Archer. What a card! The good things first, not only does this card only cost 2 mana and is basically playable every time but it is also a neutral monster which makes it being played in any kind of combination. This allows for many great combinations and makes it a very good filler card, when you have two mana left to spend. Because it is a range attacker the first idea would it to use within the Life Splinter and General Sloan but we will try out different strategies this time!

With higher levels this card becomes stronger. Especially the speed gets increase very heavily. On its highest level this card has two ranged attack, 4 speed and 5 health. For a card that is only costing us 2 mana to play, these are very good stats if you ask me. Although this card has no abilities it is certainly worth playing in low mana situations and is a great filler card for the back of your team.

Uraeus

A great card that is always nice to play is Uraeus. This epic Reward Card can also be played with any kind of Splinter because it is another Neutral card. Additionally, this card also costs only 3 mana which gives it very similar advantages as the Xenith Archer. The big difference is that this card is a melee attacker and has the Sneak Ability. This makes this card extremely beneficial in match ups where we can boost our melee damage, for example with the Fire summoner Tarsa.

With 2 speed, one armor and 2 health this card is certainly not the most tanky one, but with higher levels it can get up to 3 melee attack, 4 speed and 4 health, which makes it a very deadly Sneak attacker. Especially the Poison Ability is interesting with this card and makes it a different kind of beast in the late game.

Tenyii Striker

The first battle that we will look at today is one with the Fire Splinter. I think it is always a good choice to select the Sneak tactics with the Fire Splinter which is why Tenyii striker is a must have in this line up. With the Sneak ability, 2 melee attack, 2 speed and 6 health, this card is very variable usable and can win you games single handedly. The higher you get with this card, the more facettes of playing it gets. One of the coolest abilities is the Strike Back Ability which allows this card to deal 2 damage to any card that misses its shot at him. With a high end of 5 melee attack, 4 speed and 7 health, this card looks absolutely deadly.

Living Lava

Staying with the Fire Splinter fir this card, we need to have a good tank. In many cases the Living Lava makes a great tank. With 2 armor, 6 health and 3 attack this card is an absolute beast of a tank. With its additional Shield ability it is becoming one of the best tanks to use in the game. The only problem with this card is its speed but we need this card to absorb damage in the first place. At the final stage, this card can get up to 4 melee attack, 4 armor and 8 health which will get complimented by the thorns Ability which allows this card to deal additional damage to its enemies. All in all a very cool card to use in the Sneak Strategy for the Fire monsters.

Deeplurker

Moving away from the fire Splinter and right into the opposite: the Water Splinter. Yes, it is also possible to use the Xenith Archer in the Water Splinter as well! Like we already determined, Neutral Cards go with everybody. A great card to use is always Deeplurker. If you want to destroy your enemies support cards first, you want a card with the Opportunity Ability. Because support cards most likely do not have a lot of attack, Deeplurker will make quick work with them and brings you on the winning road.

With an amazing 3 melee attack, 2 speed and 6 health on the first level, this card makes a very great impression. But wait till it gets higher! With 5 attack, 4 speed and 7 health this card has big arguments to play it. Not only that but the Poison and Weaken Ability complement this card in a way that very few cards in this game gets complimented.

Djinn Oshannus

Speaking of perfectly designed cards. The following card is a must have in every Water Squad. It is a magic attacker that is resistant against magic attacks due to its Void ability. Furthermore, it has 2 magic attack 5 speed and 10 health. What else do you want? It can be the perfect tank, the perfect damage dealer and a good last stand card. Of course I am talking about one of the best cards in the game: Djinn Oshannus. I think that this card breaks a lot in the game but the cool thing about Splinterlands is that this card is still beatable! In any case, I would recommend using this card every time you get the chance to play it because it is a joy to see all the magic attack getting absorbed by this beast!

Example Battles

Now, the moment we have been waiting for! How can we utilize the Xenith Archer in order to take home some wins. In the following, we have to example wins. The first one being with the Fire Splitner, the second one, with the Water Splinter. In both cases I tried to make sure to fill my board completely and in both cases we were able to fill our team perfectly with the Xenith Archer. While in the first battle the Xenith archer was utilized more like a bumper against the incoming Sneak attacks, the second battle showed how useful one extra Ranged damage could become in the long run. This just shows once again how differently cards can be used in this cool game and that there are many strategies that can bring you salvation!
