By now you probably know there is a Cub Kingdom available on Cub Finance if you are invested in the platform. If you haven't heard yet, here's the official post explaining it in depth.

I thought I should write a pros and cons type of post for both Cub Den and Cub Kingdom, so anyone can compare them easily.

I'll start with Cub Den.

Cub Den Pros

  • Cub Den contract is audited, Kingdoms not yet
  • Cub Den has no fees, unlike Cub Kingdom - this is only half true, because you pay BNB fees to harvest and/or compound to the den
  • some may prefer not to auto-compound rewards, but since the withdrawal fee is zero from the kingdom, they can simply withdraw from the kingdom instead of harvesting from the den and it's still one operation
  • You don't have to move you Cub if they're already in the den (I don't know why anyone would find the action of unstaking Cub from the den and staking it into the kingdom complicated, but it could be a reason for some to stay in the den)

Cub Den Cons

  • you have to manually harvest and compound Cub rewards
  • your can't harvest and compound optimally

Let's move to Cub Kingdoms now.

Cub Kingdoms Pros

  • auto-compounds Cub into the kingdom, no need to manually harvest rewards or add them to the kingdom - no BNB fees either, but you pay the management fee
  • shares the same multiplier with Cub den (currently 15%, but that will rise to about 30% after the full migration of kingdoms), unlike the other kingdoms which have a ten times lower one
  • better APY than the den, because compounding is done optimally
  • 7% management fee for off-platform rewards to buy and burn Cub
  • you receive 3% fee back for staking Cub in the kingdom (here I didn't understand if the reward is actual BNB or a 3% fee is swapped for BNB then used to buy CUB and add to the kingdom)

Cub Kingdoms Cons

  • Kingdoms haven't been audited yet (if you are risk averse)
  • ongoing fees reduce potential gain (but also make Cub Finance sustainable)

Personally I moved to the Cub Kingdom, as I did with all the other kingdoms where I had corresponding farms or dens.

Have I missed or misunderstood anything? Let us know!
