I was thinking today about my process of writing blog posts on Hive (mainly through Leofinance).

Long-form content creation can take more time than one would expect. And sometimes short-form too, as much as we'd like to think how hard can it be to take a picture of your behind and put it online? Without knowing much about it, influencers showing off their body need something to show in the first place, so they probably work hard on staying fit. Just a thought...

Ok, this brought me to an area I know little about, so I'll get back to what I have some experience with, meaning long-form content creation.

Blogging on Hive is far more than typing it and hitting Publish. I'd say this is a less significant part of the entire process, most times.

It certainly is for me. Even more lately.

Let's take the phases an article goes through in my case:

  1. Idea - can be as simple as something popping up in my mind or going through old ideas or a tiring process of coming up with something to write about when nothing else sparks the idea you are pleased with. Often, during this part, I come up with the title of the article.
  2. Gather my thoughts / research (if necessary)
  3. Think of the structure - What do I write about? What don't I? Main sections, if it's the case. How detailed do I want it to be? And therefore, how long?
  4. Type the article
  5. Add image(s) - I sometimes do this as I write the article (for example when I write a guide or add other screenshots), other times at the end (usually when I add sourced images).
  6. Come up with a title if I didn't have one from the start. This is a post where I'll come up with a title at the end.
  7. Proofread the post
  8. Add Leoglossary and Splinterglossary links - sometimes I do this as I proofread it or even partially as I write it.
  9. Add tags - I always add them at the end to avoid accidental publishing
  10. Publish the post
  11. Share the post via an email on Listnerds - Always, daily. Many of my commenters come from there. Btw, I reached 100k LISTNERDS staked yesterday. ;)
  12. Share on LeoThreads, not before I look at the most recent #threads and reply wherever I feel I have something to say (sometimes a stupid thing, lol). Sometimes I vote too, but not often on Threads.
  13. Reply to commenters (both on the post and on the thread) - This turns into an entire conversation from time to time.

Sometimes, I don't feel like doing the phases after writing the post and would rather publish directly. But I always do them. I heard somewhere that consistency is the key. ;) Let's see what doors it opens.

This is my way of doing things. And I am a daily blogger. It may apply to you or not. You may have an even better process that you use. Any tips could be very useful, either to me or to my readers.

And if you have any questions, you know where to find me. :)
