My Hive Goals For 2022

We're getting closer to the year end. It wasn't the blow off top many expected some time ago, but 2021 treated us well in the crypto verse.

Last year I haven't put out a post regarding my goals for 2021, at least on Hive. To some degree it offered me the flexibility to change my priorities throughout the year, because many things weren't the same as they were at the start. But overall I believe that was a mistake, because I've been all over the place and haven't followed certain targets, at least on Hive.

For example, the idea of growing my Hive stake was always on the back of my mind, but without a clear goal, I haven't pushed in this direction. I haven't powered down or sold Hive either, but haven't added much.

Based on my monthly stats and the price of Hive at the end of December 2020, I had approximately 10350 Hive at the beginning of 2021, most of it powered up.

Now, I have 12656 Hive, again, most of it staked. Only 2306 Hive added in a year is almost pathetic.

For this counter-performance, other than the lack of a goal to increase my Hive holdings, I can find a few other reasons:

  • less author rewards due to infrequent posting (as opposed to daily)
  • less focus on curation APR
  • more focus on gaming
  • more emphasis on HE tokens and tribes
  • more time dedicated to platforms outside Hive ecosystem

While I realize more frequent posting would probably increase my Hive author rewards, I'd rather not return to the daily schedule I kept for so long here on Hive. But I need to post more often, that seems clear.

In 2022, I will probably focus less on other ventures, both inside or outside the Hive ecosystem, both time-wise and monetarily, if that hinders my yearly goals.

But let's define the goals.

I will set two primary goals for 2022, leaving room for other secondary goals as much as possible. I won't state them, to keep the focus on the primary goals.

HIVE POWER: 25000

HBD in savings: 5000

That means a doubling of my current HP, which won't be easy, especially if the price of Hive remains at high levels for a good part of 2022.

The goal for HBD comes practically from scratch, since I only have about 130 HBD in my savings balance right now. And it won't be easy for multiple reasons, one of them being the multiple sinks that are built for HBD and which are or will be enticing.
