Don't use H1 (# in markdown) inside the post if you want to optimize for search engines. As you said, H1 is for the title of the article, and that's something the platform controls (peakd, hive.blog, leofinance, etc.).

Inside the post, use H2 (## in markdown) for the most relevant sections, and go from there down.

If you use H1, the crawler might be confused about the title of the post. If you check the most relevant blogs on SEO (or other high ranked websites), you will see H1 is for the title, H2 is for the most relevant (top-level) sections.
