In a world where 3-4 digit APRs are not uncommon, it's important to remember and take time to celebrate small wins, as well as bigger ones. Otherwise what's their point, if they start to blend into a regular routine, unnoticed?

In my previous post I touched a bit about the early days of cryptocurrencies. Almost from back then we still have a faucet that distributes bitcoin satoshi and is still in business. I'm sure you know of it at least, if you haven't tried it. It's freebitco.in.

Faucets have been out of style for quite some time, with all the new and powerful instruments and tools crypto world keeps developing constantly, but their business model is still around. After all these years.

But it's not my intention to praise faucets. They have their limited scope and some people still use them. For example, I still spend (waste) a few minutes every day on a few faucets.

But today it didn't feel like wasted time. So I wanted to celebrate a small win.

That's right, I won 5000 bitcoin satoshi by opening their daily email prize!

I didn't get rich doing that, it's something between $1 and $2, but it is a small win, considering the daily 'usual' per email is 50 satoshi (or 50 reward points - which have the same value as satoshi, except you need at least 100k of them to exchange them to satoshi, if that's what you want).

Also, with this small win came another. I now have enough satoshi in the faucet account to receive daily interest on them:

I needed 30000 bitcoin satoshi in my account balance at freebitcoin to receive 4.08% yearly interest on them. Knowing there's no "impermanent loss" and that I don't risk any external bitcoin there (although the website has many years of continuous operation), that's pretty cool.
