Three (3) Major Tips to End Procrastination Completely.
When a group of workers were questioned about one thing they would change if they had the power, most people spoke about how they will be willing to change the habit of procrastination at all costs. The habit of procrastination has delayed so many good things from happening to people, the first question I will be answering in this post is, is there a difference between procrastination and laziness?
Laziness is a deliberate unwillingness to act, a lazy person does not want to carry out any task at all, while procrastination, on the other hand, is ignoring a task that seems difficult and unpleasant for one that appears enjoyable and ways.
Since procrastination affects so many, it is necessary to know how to prevent and overcome procrastination as this will help boost productivity;
1. Accept that you are procrastinating.
The first step to healing from procrastination is to understand that you have a habit of constantly procrastinating if you are delaying a major project for a very good reason, you may not be procrastinating, but if you have a regular habit of putting important tasks off indefinitely, or you have the habit of switching between important tasks to focus on a less productive one, then you probably have the spirit of procrastination.
It is safe to say you have a habit of procrastinating if you;

Kickstart a high-priority task and then proceed to do something else without finishing it.

Leaving an item on your to-do list for a long time.

You read an email over and over again without making an actual decision on what to do.

When you fill your day with only simple and low-priority tasks.
Remember what they say about when identifying your problem as the beginning of a solution, it is right to believe so because when you get to the point when you are able to come to terms with that you have a weakness of procrastination, it is the first step to healing.
2. Identify the reason behind your act of procrastination.
When you understand the reason behind the act of procrastination, it would be easy to begin to handle it. Do you procrastinate because you are bored or because you are worried about failing? Telling yourself the truth about the reason behind your act of procrastination will push you into making decisions to help yourself.
3. Seek anti-procrastination strategies.
Procrastination is a strong habit that may not be overcome at once, it would take a gradual process to do so, and it will take a lot of consistent effort as well from you to have this issue overcome.

Start with forgiving yourself for previously procrastinating, forgiving yourself will help you feel more positive and hasten your strength towards curbing every act of future procrastination.

Ensure that you are focused more on acting rather than avoiding. Start by writing down all the tasks you want to fulfill for the day and have a specified time to get them fulfilled.

Promising yourself a reward after you tackle a task, will help you focus more on work.

Peer pressure works very well, asking someone to check up on you or running a deadline with your friend will help boost your ability to get productive.

Minimize distractions: Distractions are one of the biggest reasons behind procrastination, if there is anything distracting you, ensure to take it away and focus on work while you have to, differentiating the time for work from the time of relaxation and pleasure will help you beat procrastination.
If you are procrastinating because you find the task boring, think about the side effect of not carrying out those tasks, this will get you energized to work on it.
