The latest big news is the implementation of soft fork v0.22.2 or something like that, an attempt to prevent Justin Sun from taking over everything on Steemit. Basically what it means is that they are preventing Justin Sun from using the stake he bought.

I really dont like that, especially coming from witnesses who, like zombies, have always agreed with whatever Steemit, Inc always said. All of a sudden they have taken the Steem community at heart and are trying to prevent a hostile takeover. Sounds kind of fishy to me, more like they want to have something which can allow them to negotiate with Justin Sun, something that will not let him hold all the cards.

I think what they really want is an assurance that they will remain as witnesses, I can see no other reason for this, and all the other big accounts are in on it because they have always been in with the witnesses, lets face it, there has never been a hard fork that has affected the big accounts, always the ones to take the negative effects are the small accounts. This has all helped to stop Steemit from growing.

I have seen a lot of these accounts agreeing that this is good because what Justin Sun bought is stolen through Ninja mining, a funny attitude when you take into account that @freedom and his sidekick @pumpkin, who actually place the top twenty witnesses, are Ninja miners also, just look at the date when they started. I have a feeling these accounts are part of the Justin Sun deal, yes I might be wrong, but if I am right I think the witnesses are really in for an ugly surprise.

Another excuse for the soft fork is they want to keep Steemit and the Steem blockchain decentralized, so they took a decision among themselves to take action without consulting anyone out of their circle, better said they took a centralized decision because they like decentralization, I don't like that either.

So all in all, and of course in my opinion which could be wrong, this is more like a power struggle by the big accounts to not be completely absorbed by Justin Sun and an attempt by the witnesses to make the most of a very awkward situation. I don't even know if they have an idea that they are up against a person who probably employs a whole legal department and just might use it.

I just wait outside waiting to see how things develop, but frankly I don't see any good outcome from this.
