Some of you might have recently bought SPS from Crypto.com App or Crypto.com Exchange and is wondering how it is to transfer the SPS there to Splinterlands to earn the staking APR. I will try to break down the steps here as clearly as I can and hopefully it will helps some of you guys out there who wants to do the transfer. Do note that I am using the Crypto.com App and not the Exchange platform. Crypto.com has 2 platforms and I didn't try the Exchange account yet.

Things you need to have before you start doing this:

  1. A Crypto.com App account and with some SPS in the account.
  2. A Hive account.
  3. A Metamask account that is linked to Splinterlands. Make sure your Metamask is on the BNB Mainnet. Also you need some BNB tokens. Don't worry I will tell you how to get them later.
  • The first step is to add your Metamask wallet to your Crypto.com App. First go to your Crypto.com App and look for your SPS balance screen. Click on the Transfer icon.
  • Then click on Withdraw icon.
  • Next click on External Wallet.
  • Click on the + sign then click on Wallet Address.
  • Select SPS.
  • Fill in your External Wallet info. For the BSC Address you can just open up your Metamask wallet to show the QR code for scanning. For Wallet Type, select Binance. Once all the info are filled up click on Continue and the External Wallet should be setup.

Crypto.com needs you to wait for 24 hours before you can withdraw to a newly setup external wallet. Also note that there is a fixed 3.00 SPS transfer fee for every transfer so don't transfer too small of an amount of SPS.

Once your SPS is successfully withdraw and sitting in your Metamask, you should also be able to see the SPS BSC balances via Splinterlands as well in the SPS Management Page.

Now to finish the last step of transferring from Metamask to Splinterlands, you need BNB tokens. This is because there is a small BNB gas fee you need to pay to transfer from MetaMask to Splinterlands via the BSC (Binance Smart Chain) network. Thankfully the amount you need is very small as compared to a normal Etherum gas fee. You don't need more than a $1 of BNB. If you don't want to even spend cash to buy the token, you can also use swap.hive to exchange to swap.bnb and transfer it to Metamask. Those of us who blog should be able to get swap.hive easily. If you don't blog, you can also play RisingStars (https://www.risingstargame.com/) to earn some starbits to exchange into hive. I did my conversion via beeswap (https://beeswap.dcity.io/convert).

Once you got some bnb in your hive wallet, you can do a withdrawal and send it to your Metamask wallet. In my first transfer I was only charged 0.0003 BNB which is like a few cents.

  • To do the final transfer, go to the Splinterlands SPS Management page and click on the Transfer button.
  • Fill in the SPS amount you want to transfer out from Metamask and select Binance Smart Chain for your transfer type.
  • At the transfer screen, you will see there is a bridge fee. Bridge fee is 0.5% of your transfer amount. So there is 2 fees here, one is the bridge fee and another is the BNB gas fee. Both amount are relatively small.
Click on Start Transfer and TeraBlock will try to process your transfer request. If you have enough BNB in your Metamask wallet, there shouldn't be any issue here. I was stuck here for a day not knowing I needed BNB tokens in my metamask to proceed.

Happy earning more SPS!
