I want to confess that I really like video games, and even when I don't play them frequently, I do follow the previews and from time to time I watch "gameplays" of games I don't own because I see them as if they were movies, and in fact I think they are better than movies, since movies have 2 hours and a structure that we can't change, while video games have a much longer structure and in which we are the ones who can create or be part of the story.

For months now I have been following the previews of "Resident Evil: Village" and today I was thinking about how interesting it is to have a story that can immerse customers in a type of entertainment that goes beyond that, since it is not just watching and listening to a screen, but it is deciding between several options and choosing how to take the story based on what we think is best.

Video games have been something that has revolutionized the entertainment industry, and we can see that those who have been more successful, are those who have been able to achieve a connection with the players, in the same way that movie franchises have achieved it and we can see how new titles are released frequently.

They can also be seen as an industry with different areas, where each person can get something that interests them, in the same way that in the other industries you can get different products that fit what people want, and this is where we see the competition for customers with specific characteristics that can get along better with the brand.

The interesting thing is how an industry with a short time of existence (compared to others such as cinema or theater) has managed to grow so fast, and in which it seems that it has no limit yet, as there is still a lot of innovation with new more powerful equipment and new features.

Personally I think that the most important thing in entertainment is to have a story that can catch the customer, but it is also true that good special effects and having the brain working or constant stimulation can make the product have a good future, although there is also the risk of failure, as in other industries.
