retrospective /rɛtrə(ʊ)ˈspɛktɪv/

adjective looking back on or dealing with past events or situations. "our survey was retrospective"

Similar: backdated retroactive ex post facto backward-looking

As I made a new selfie yesterday, I began thinking of what could have been if I were a bit smarter in some of my recent decisions. Effectively, I began pondering in retrospective what could have been.

As the google definition says, retrospective is an adjective with a meaning that you look back on past events or dealing on past events and situation. And of course, a very similar concept is hindsight - especially when we are pondering on some past decisions.

Thinking in retrospective - a blessing or a curse?

And that is exactly what happened to me yesterday basically. I started delving into some of the decisions that I have done in my life - particularly in my finances - in the past 12 months or so. And while some decisions have been particularly good, others - in retrospective - have been quite bad.

One of the decisions - or should I say lack of decision - that has been stuck around with me was me being hesitant of HIVE in the beginning. I remember that when joining Ecency in the last days of March in 2021, HIVE was trading at a price around the 0.5 $ mark - similar to the price that it has today. But the real hesitation that occured during this time was due to the fact that I was unaware of the strong principles that this wonderful community had at the time - which was why I took HIVE for granted basically. I was posting some selfies and some pics of me, I joined two or three communities and that was that.

Oh how I was wrong.

I cannot pinpoint the exact time when I started taking HIVE and Ecency more seriously - perhaps even more seriously than my original website blog that I have had for quite some time now - but I do recall two influences that basically pushed me into the Ecency world: @vortac and @tarazkp .

They were really trying to get me to realize that I need to put words to the posting of selfies, they pushed me into realizing that basically even a girl like me, totally inexperienced in the crypto world can share her thoughts and opinions into a multitude of subjects (crypto included) in the Ecency world - and if good, some of those opinions would be rewarded by one of the greatest communities that I have ever encountered.

And the rest is history - I started writing and sharing my thoughts about multitude of subjects, some I trust were good, others not. But the learning curve that I feel that I have been achieving during these past 12 months or so in which I have been a part of Ecency is really something else.

I am currently sitting just shy of 2000 HP and have around 690 HIVE in my Ecency wallet. I also possess two Hive Punks - one of which was a gift from the wonderful @dalz . I am eagerly awaiting on the developments that the crypto markets will offer so that I can carefully think of my next step, which is from today's point of view really obvious - powering up.

I really think that the concept of HP is truly a remarkable one and it is precisely one of the main reasons why I fell in love with Ecency and HIVE.

Retrospect can be both a blessing or a curse, depends on what kind of decisions you made - but being here and reading my thoughts on Ecency means that you are a part of this wonderful community and project that is HIVE, so trust me that when you look back in retrospective to this particular moment in time - being on Ecency and investing in HIVE would be up there with the greatest blessed decisions you have ever made.

Have a great Thursday ahead lovely Ecencians! 💗
