Dear Stackers,

As you many have noticed I am flipping some of my premium silver and to do this I have a number of possibilities:

  1. hive : I sold quite some coins already against HBD

  2. ebay : I have an account but not used yet

  3. local ebay : I sold a complete African Ounce serie here but did not make a real profit

  4. catawiki

Today I am trying for the first time ever to sell on CATAWIKI, an online auction website for European collectors of coins, stamps, wine, art and all you can think of.
This Dutch company is a huge succes in Europe and employs already 500 persons or more to give you an idea.

What is catawiki? https://www.catawiki.com/en/

In brief it is a webbased auction per category and each few weeks there is another auction for gold, silver , bullion and sometimes special coins like Italian, Medieval, Greek, Roman. Again there are 200 auctions but say ten are for coins at any given moment.

In the start it were private sellers but more and more retail companies can be found there spoiling the fun with incorrect texts, - pictures and only offering bullion coins you can buy cheaper elsewhere.

I mean cheaper mainly because the auction asks 7% form the buyer and 12 from the seller. That means offering spot price for a bullion will not help you get a bargain.

My coins being offered soon on catawiki are:

I hope to get at least 70 EUr fot this Elephant which was #1 of the serie.

And I wanna sell some more of these proof Kooks: (and I am aware @stokjockey would love these)

I hope to get a few hundred for these but have not set a reserve!!!!!

Fingers crossed

Oh and I am selling a I require some more cash for when we decided to buy a house in Spain later on. These higher premium coins are a bit harder to sell.
