**A CASE OF FINDING $250 ON THE SIDEWALK**
FOUND $250
If while on an outing, I were to see $250 cash on the sidewalk, I bend over and pick it up,
looked around and there is no one to claim it.
STEPS I WILL FOLLOW
-
I will make all necessary effort to identify the owner, first by informing residents around the find
and leaving my contact phone number.
-
Place posters around strategic places about finding money, but not disclosing exact amount.
-
Utilize social media to do same if possible.
I will do all these, while keeping keeping secret the exact amount, denomination, nature of its wrap,
spot and day found. Utilizing these information to narrow down the owner.
I will give some reasonable period of 3 days to try locate the owner.
Why?
This I will do because authorities around me are not trusted to always do the right thing in cases like
this.
- But if after some days there is no positive response, I will handle the money over to the relevant
authorities.
Why?
Because of my religious principles. The law of karma, that whatsoever a person sows, so he shall reap,
meaning whatever thoughts or actions you put out, you get back — good or bad.
Taking that which does not belong to me and using it, is tantamount to stealing and I will definitely
pay back in a big way in the long run for my action, if not immediately. And this I will not want to
happen to me.
